Wanting to See Him Happy

When Matthew Taylor dropped Emma Hart back at the company, Oliver Westmore was already there, waiting early. 

Oliver was there to confirm the details of a contract signing scheduled for the next day. 

"Mr. Taylor, I look forward to a pleasant collaboration," he said. 

Matthew Taylor responded with a smile, though without a direct answer. 

The two had enjoyed a cordial conversation just days before, essentially taking the upcoming partnership as a given. 

Yet, Matthew Taylor harbored a slight unease, the warnings from Damien Sterling lingering in his mind. 

Nonetheless, the offer from the Westmore Group was too tempting for Matthew to ignore.

The next day, Emma Hart woke to find Damien Sterling standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, seemingly preoccupied with his thoughts. 

Emma couldn't help but feel a sense of loss seeing him like this.
