Every Family Has Its Troubles

Logan Harrington gazed up at the scattered stars in the night sky, letting out a long, weary sigh. "I swear, you just love pouring cold water on my happiness. Can't you let me be happy for a few days?" he muttered, his recent joy deflated at the thought of his grandmother.

"I'm only doing this for your own good, helping you see things clearly," Damien Sterling replied calmly, his eyes unwavering.

Logan's grandmother, much like Damien's grandfather, was an old-fashioned thinker. In their world, marriages had to be well-matched, ideally with the bride younger than the groom. Amelia Davidson's family was of modest means, relying solely on her income, which made financial security a significant concern for her.

Without hesitation, Logan declared, "Let those old folks say whatever they want! I, for one, won't marry anyone but my goddess!"
