Emma Hart then left the break room with the coffee in hand. Behind her, a mix of disappointed and envious expressions followed.

As she walked back to the CEO's office, Emma couldn't help but reflect on the fickle nature of people. When she first joined Sterling Group as a nobody, she was met with indifference and scorn. Now, as Damien Sterling's wife, those same people who once stepped all over her were now trying to curry favor.

The quickest way back to Damien's office was through the design department. Emma had already wasted some time chatting with her old colleagues, so taking the long way back would only make her late and possibly incur Damien's wrath. She decided to cut through the design department instead.

During lunch break, the design department was mostly empty, with only a few employees napping at their desks. Sterling Group's heavy workload made this a common sight.
