"If this were modern times," Jiho mused, "I might not be so surprised." She imagined them using the stability and ease of pencils and pens.

"But writing with quills... even beginners struggle to hold them properly, let alone write so skillfully."

As she watched them, a shadow of suspicion crossed her mind. How could they be so adept with quills, instruments notoriously difficult for novices? She recalled her own struggles with the finicky tool, the ink blots, and the unsteady lines.

Her husbands, however, showed none of these telltale signs of inexperience.

Jiho's admiration was tinged with a hint of wariness. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she continued to observe them.

The room was quiet except for the soft scratching of quills on parchment. Jiho's admiration grew as she watched their focused expressions, the subtle movements of their hands, and the slight shifts in their postures.
