"And when did another 'master' come to exist in your world?" Her voice was flat, almost bored, but the words carried a dangerous weight. The man flinched, fear tightening his posture.
"S-sorry... so, so sorry..." he muttered, stumbling over his words.
Before the pitiful figure could speak again, the door swung open once more. Another man entered, his steps firm, his presence familiar. He didn't even look at the trembling servant.
"Get out," he commanded, dismissing the man without a second thought. His attention shifted to Ruby. Unlike the others, he wasn't afraid. Perhaps because he'd known her long enough, or perhaps because he simply didn't care. He was one of the few who could stand in her presence without crumbling.
"Your husband has called. He wants to have dinner with you."
