Mila's pov: Chapter 6

Usually I had my act together and knew how to focus on a lesson.

But this was all too much even for me.

Me, my mother and our whole small town attend aunt's Yira's funeral.

An police officer showed us a footage of a burning building and the blood outside it,

Belonged to Aunty Yira or Is it now Prof. Lytton?

Alot of emotions coursed through my body.

Why would I keep a secret like this?

My mother deserves to know her little sister is in one piece.

My mother blamed herself for what we thought happened.

I'm sure it was all staged judging from Prof. Lytton's lack of burn wounds.

This will finally get my mother to stop crying when she thinks I'm asleep.

Prof. Lytton concluded the lecture and students started getting up to leave.

I hesitated to switched off my recorder as something told me to keep recording.

"Well I guess You deserve an explanation.

I won't give it since you can't be trusted.

You think I don't know you recording me?

Looks like I need to move again."

Said Prof. Lytton in an icey tone as if talking to a stranger.

"What are you talking about?

You think my mother hasn't suffered enough?

You that selfish that you won't even tell her you fine?"

I asked completely shocked at Prof. Yira's words.

"You know what? Go and tell her but I won't be here when-

Wow you still recording?.

Unbelievable!"

Prof. Lytton chuckled out of disgust.

With a flick of a wrist my recorder was destroyed.

It was crushed into to pieces before my very eyes, like a truck had stepped on it.

"Now listen here, Don't force me to do the same to you.

You let this go and forget about it and I'll ask for a transfer and leave tonight.

If you open your mouth about me to anyone,

I'll kill you and your mother, and all the people you tell.

This is a dangerous game you trying to play.

Aunty Yira died when you buried her.

Don't make me choose between my daughter's safety and you.

Because I'll always choose my daughter."

Warned Prof. Lytton grabbing her things and rushing out.

My legs gave in from under me as happy memories from Aunt Yira surfaced.

Tears filled my eyes as I slid to the floor choking on my tears.

I regreted confronting her directly instead of just bringing my mom there to see her.

With no evidence of her existence even bringing her up would be like rubbing salt to the wound.

A student walked into the class and halted noticing me.

"Hey, what happened? Why you crying on the floor?"

Said the dangerous stranger's voice.

"Here, use my phone to call someone to get you.

Be quick about it before I change my mind."

Said the dangerous stranger unemotional.

I quickly grabbed the phone and called Dean Miss Crystal.

My heart told me that if someone would believe me it's her.

The phone kept ringing and with no answer.

Could Dean Miss Crystal be in danger?

Fortunately her number flashed and I answered it quickly.

[Private conversation between Dean Miss Crystal and Mila]

Mila: it's me Mila, please pick me up, I'll explain what happened once we are alone.

Dean: Are you crying?

Mila:.....N-No.

Dean: I'm on my way.

(Dean hung up.)

20mins later an angry Reeve walked in and ran once she saw me on the floor.

"Where are you hurt?"

Reeved asked worried and inspected my body for injuries.

"N-Nowhere, but I feel like I got run through a train on the inside."

I said crying despite my efforts of trying not to.

"You mean I walked out of an important meeting and nothing happened to you?"

Asked Reeve as her worried expression morphed into annoyance.

"I would tell you but I know you won't believe me.

Even I am starting to question what I saw, wondering if I'm projecting from years of loneliness."

I said as I wiped fresh tears from my eyes.

"Try me, I doubt it's anything that would surprise me."

Said Reeve crossing her arms impatiently.

"M-my life is on the line, who knows what would happen to my mother if I open my mouth about what I saw.

Dragging Y'all into this would be selfish.

As much as I need your help I can't ask for it knowing that Y'all could die from acquiring this information."

I said not hiding how scared I am.

Reeve squarted infront of me and lifted my chin.

She looked into my eyes and I felt slightly dizzy.

"Tell me everything you know and leave nothing out."

Demanded Reeve her voice was law.

I couldn't stop myself from telling her about Aunty Yira being Professor Lytton.

Not leaving out that she went missing and her blood was found outside a burning building next to the remains of a burnt body.

I told her that she was doing this for her daughter.

After I was done I threw up and my eyes were painful and I rubbed them and it made it worse I couldn't see a thing.

"Reeve what did you do? Are you out of your mind?"

Said Resa hugging my shoulders and she rubbed my back in a soothing manner.

"Listen to me Mila, Reeve didn't mean it, I'll heal you and you'll be fine I promise."

Pleaded Resa not hiding the panic in her voice.

Someone walked in but there was silence.

"What have the both of you done? If mom finds out about this,

There is no telling what she would do."

Said Riley trying to take me from Resa's arms.

To which Resa grabbed on to me tighter not letting go.

"Reeve didn't mean it.

You better shut up about this after I heal her.

There is no need to escalate this further."

Said Resa before I felt something sharp piercing my neck.

"Riley!?!!! Stop it! Mom won't forgive you for this and you know it!

Reeve, She's too strong help me get her off Mila.

Ouch!"

Said Resa who went flying hitting a wall based of what I could hear.

I was seeing double after I wiped myself of the blood in my eyes.

"You leave me with no choice Riley. I'll have to hurt you.

She is not yours to kill."

Said Reeve and I felt Riley go limb next to me.

Resa got off the floor and rushed to Riley.

"Riley, can you hear me? Reeve you'll get in trouble for this."

Said Resa biting her wrist and giving it to Riley who drank the blood greedily.

Than Resa stood infront of me and I made sure to avoid her eyes.

"Look despite what happened, we dropped everything to come here to you.

Don't make me do this the hard way look into my eyes."

Said Resa grabbing my face in her hands in attempt to force me to look at her.

Dean Miss Crystal rushed in and tore Resa off me.

"The three of you just broke my trust."

Said Dean Miss Crystal in a deep heavy tone that was filled with resentment.

"We have bigger problems mom, her aunt is a Professor at the academy.

If what Mila said was true about her not changing for the past 8 years,

Being frozen at 21.

Than the murders that happened at the campus are all tied to her.

Professor Lytton probably hypnotized Security Decker to forget about her actions.

She must of used compulsion to brainwash her in to thinking that we are angels of death."

Said Reeve not hiding her anger and frustration.

" I see you trying to justify your behavior."

Muttered Dean Miss Crystal not hiding her hatred.

"We canceled important meetings to get stuck here!

Turns out she's perfectly fine, so yes I acted on my irritation.

I've never injured anyone using compulsion."

Said Reeve defending herself but was met with silence from both Resa and Riley.

"Your father was right. You can't be amongst people."

Said Dean Miss Crystal in a disappointed tone.

"This must be my punishment for believing in you."

Said Dean Miss Crystal before carrying me in her arms.

"I'm so sorry Mila, but you now know too much.

I have to kill you to protect my daughters.

I wish things were different but you can't leave this room alive."

Said Dean Miss Crystal in a cold tone of voice like she was talking to a stranger.

"I'll do it, I'm the one who revealed our identity to her.

I'm sorry I've put you in a position to harm your own mate mom."

Said Riley apologetically as the rest of them left the room leaving me alone with her.

Security Miss Decker tried to warn me, but I decided to throw her under the bus.

This is my punishment for not going to the police with the evidence she gave me.

Riley yanked me off the ground to a standing position.

Veins appeared on her now pale face as her Fangs elongated.

"Riley, please don't do this!"

I screamed before Riley bit into my neck roughly almost breaking it in half.

"I'm so so sorry Mila. This is all my fault.

I don't have my thirst under controlled.

Please forgive me."

Pleaded Riley as I lost consciousness.
