Chapter 19: Director Yang's Accidental Mishap

Hearing Ye Tian's words and witnessing Director Yang's sorry state, the crowd couldn't help but laugh. Director Yang's face alternated between pale and flushed with anger. He shook off Ye Tian's hand and clenched his fist, ready to strike. But just then, he felt an unstoppable urge to urinate, and warmth spread between his legs.

His clenched fist froze mid-air, and no matter how hard he squeezed his legs together, it was useless.

Ye Tian, annoyed by the man's persistence and eager to test his newly acquired medical skills from Hua Tuo, had pressed a point on Director Yang's ribs while helping him up. This pressure activated his internal energy, causing the immediate and embarrassing result—Director Yang had wet himself.

In society, needing to relieve oneself is a natural urge that affects everyone, regardless of status. However, doing so in public is a humiliating experience no one wants to endure.

The sound of trickling water made the crowd step back, distancing themselves from Director Yang. They looked at him with strange expressions, now fully believing Ye Tian's words.

"Actually wetting himself, that's disgusting! Seems like what the kid said was right, Director Yang really does have a severe kidney deficiency."

"He is a nouveau riche who made his fortune overnight, probably overindulging in his newfound wealth. Serves him right!"

...

As he listened to the crowd's murmurs, Director Yang felt a deep sense of despair. He had become wealthy overnight due to his sand quarry being requisitioned for village redevelopment. With wealth came the desire for status, and he had tried to insert himself into high society. He loved looking down on those he deemed inferior, which is why he targeted Ye Tian. Now, having humiliated himself in front of everyone was more painful to him than death.

However, instead of introspection, Director Yang directed all his hatred towards Ye Tian, lunging at him blindly in rage: "It's all your fault, you bumpkin! I should have just paid you off. I'm going to kill you today!"

Ye Tian, seeing Director Yang's wild approach, quickly dodged. After all, the man was practically a biohazard at this point. Director Yang, missing his target, picked up a chair in a fit of rage and hurled it at Ye Tian.

Screams echoed around them. The chair, made of heavy metal, could cause severe injury if it connected. Wang Ziwen, too, frowned and was about to intervene, but the chaos caused by Director Yang's earlier mishap had put everyone out of position to help immediately.

"You bumpkin, die!" Director Yang, blinded by rage, threw the chair with all his might.

Ye Tian remained calm amidst the shouts of alarm, stepping forward and extending his hand to lightly touch the incoming chair.

With a smooth series of movements—adhering, following, leading, and lifting—Ye Tian's seemingly fragile hand worked in harmony with the heavy chair, redirecting it past him and crashing it into a table behind, shattering it. The force of the rebound was enough to lift Director Yang off his feet, causing him to land hard on the ground with a crack from his wrist.

The onlookers were shocked, having seen the chair aimed directly at Ye Tian's head only to be effortlessly diverted. The chair's momentum had been perfectly utilized by Ye Tian, causing Director Yang's arm to fracture from the rebound.

Director Yang screamed in pain, and his bodyguards, noticing the physical altercation, rushed over.

"He's assaulting people! This guy is causing trouble at the banquet, impersonating the Miss's husband and hitting me. Arrest him and take him to the police station!" Director Yang cried out, seeing the bodyguards as his saviors.

"Shameless!" Not just Ye Tian, but even Wang Ziwen couldn't help but curse under his breath. Director Yang's behavior, blaming others for his own actions, was despicable.

The bodyguards, observing the chaos and Ye Tian's presence, were in a dilemma. They had seen Ye Tian enter with Su Mei, and their relationship seemed close. Not wanting to offend Ye Tian but still bound by their duty, they were unsure how to proceed.

At that moment, a new voice chimed in, "What's going on here? I just went to the bathroom, and I come back to all this commotion?" Everyone turned to see Li Chenglin, looking confused at the scene.

"Li Shao, you're here just in time. This man barged in, freeloading and trying to tarnish Miss Su Mei's reputation by claiming to be her husband. Such a person shouldn't be let off easily!"

Director Yang, seeing Li Chenglin, rushed to him as if clutching at a lifeline.

"What? Someone dared to do that?" Li Chenglin's face turned steely. However, upon seeing Ye Tian, he paused and asked in confusion:

"Brother-in-law, what happened here?"

"What does he mean by that?" Director Yang, stunned, asked blankly.

Li Chenglin noticed the wreckage and Director Yang's murderous gaze towards Ye Tian. His expression darkened: "Did you just attack my brother-in-law?"

"Li… Li Shao, he… he's your brother-in-law? Which sister?"

"I have two sisters. One is already married, and the other is Su Mei. Who else could it be!"

Li Chenglin's expression was grim. He had been asked by Su Mei to look after Ye Tian, but instead, in a blink of an eye, Ye Tian was involved in a conflict and even attacked. Feeling regretful, he quickly approached Ye Tian, asking with concern, "Brother-in-law, are you okay? It's my fault for not introducing you earlier; this misunderstanding wouldn't have happened otherwise."
