Chapter 43: Ye Tian's Show-off

This matter was a sore spot for Ye Tian. Back in his childhood, the village where Ye Tian lived had an elderly lady, who was considered a master.

Of course, with his current capabilities, Ye Tian realized that the so-called master was just someone who had learned some basic Wing Chun moves common in the market, probably not even as good as the disciple of that Master Chen.

But in Ye Tian's childhood village, the old lady was undoubtedly recognized by all the mischievous kids as a real master.

Many village children, including Ye Tian, had begged to learn kung fu from her, but they were all rejected. She only took three disciples, and Ye Xi was one of them.

Although Ye Xi and Ye Tian's relationship is now closer than any biological siblings, they were like fire and water when Ye Xi was first adopted. Naturally, it was Ye Xi who was bullied at first. Given that girls develop earlier than boys, and with only three years difference in age, one can imagine the outcome of fights between two children – one trained in Wing Chun and the other just brawling. For a short period, Ye Tian was almost like a punching bag for his sister, who had turned the tables on him.

As Ye Xi grew up, transforming from a little girl into a young lady, her practice of Wing Chun became sporadic. Along with the rapidly growing affection between them, this allowed Ye Tian to escape from misery.

However, that short period was Ye Tian's most embarrassing secret, and now that Ye Xi brought it up, he felt utterly humiliated. Annoyed, he slapped Ye Xi on the buttocks and declared:

"A lot can happen in three days, and you should view people with fresh eyes. Even Mrs. Liang in her youth wouldn't be a match for me now."

"Brother, look, there are so many cows in the sky!" Ye Xi giggled, pretending to be shocked as she pointed out the window.

"It seems I need to show you something so you'll stop thinking I'm bluffing," Ye Tian muttered, rolling his eyes. Although the dog food system was too bizarre to mention in the hospital, this was a good opportunity to show off a little. This way, when he eventually revealed the truth, Ye Xi wouldn't find it too hard to believe.

"How will you show me?" Ye Xi widened her eyes, filled with doubt and surprise.

She knew her brother inside out. Back then, many people desperately wanted to become Mrs. Liang's disciples, but only three kids persisted, and Ye Xi was one of them.

Ye Xi managed to stick with it due to being frequently bullied in the orphanage and later feeling extremely insecure after being adopted by Ye Tian's parents. In contrast, Ye Tian barely lasted a few days during Mrs. Liang's initial running test.

Even though Ye Xi's martial arts practice became sporadic due to the affection of Ye Tian's parents, she still had over a decade of training. Just a few months in the hospital couldn't have changed Ye Tian that much, she thought.

Full of disbelief, Ye Xi stared at Ye Tian, waiting for him to pull some trick.

The siblings were inseparable, and Ye Tian could guess most of his sister's thoughts. As a brother, he could lose face in front of anyone, but he couldn't be looked down upon by his sister. Ye Tian scanned the room and noticed an apple on the table beside the bed. A smile crossed his face as he said:

"You think you're amazing just because you learned a few moves? I let you bully me before because I wanted to give face to my little sister. Today, I'll show you something impressive."

He boasted arrogantly and, under Ye Xi's disdainful gaze, swung his fist at the apple on the table.

This time, Ye Tian didn't hold back at all. Dark energy, the dividing line between ancient martial artists and ordinary people, was much more powerful than just physical strength.

Dark energy was not about brute force; it was about control and finesse. A full-strength

strike from a Dark Energy stage ancient martial artist, if hit against a wall, might not break through it but would definitely cause the plaster to fly and the bricks to crack.

Of course, Ye Tian didn't hit the apple directly but stopped his fist a distance away. He focused all his energy into that single point, reaching the pinnacle of his Dark Energy stage capabilities. Despite the size of his fist, it was like a small, sharp arrow, whistling through the air. The intense force generated by his fist, although he stopped, didn't dissipate with his motion. The compressed air struck out, and the resulting force slammed into the apple.

Bang!

With a sound that wasn't very loud, the apple was sent flying, splattering juice on the wall not far in front of it.

"Fist energy!"

Ye Xi, who had been watching with her mouth slightly open, couldn

't help but exclaim in shock. The apple hadn't completely shattered, but the impact on her was unparalleled.

Having practiced Wing Chun, she might not have been the most diligent, but she had a certain level of understanding. Fist energy and fist wind are completely different concepts. Fist wind can be strong or weak, but no matter how strong, it can't send an apple flying like that!

This level of skill was something Ye Xi had only heard about in occasional reminiscences from Mrs. Liang. Not even Mrs. Liang, who taught her Wing Chun, had ever truly demonstrated such a thing.

"Brother... How did you do that? It's unbelievable! Even Mrs. Liang, in her prime, could only use fist wind to knock down paper cups. Before I was hospitalized, you didn't know martial arts at all. What's going on?"
