Chapter 50: Lu Yunqi's Misunderstanding

"Don't worry, the origin of the gold brick is legitimate. Brother would never do anything illegal or disciplinary. Remember what I told you before? When we get home, I'll explain everything to you."

Ye Tian understood his sister's concerns and quickly reassured her.

"Alright!" Ye Xi, convinced by her brother's sincere demeanor and remembering what Ye Tian had said in the ward, obediently nodded. Then, she turned to Lu Yunqi with a somewhat strange expression and asked, "Do you know this sister? She's not your girlfriend, is she?"

"Congratulations on successfully spreading dog food, you have earned 15 dog food points."

Hearing the system notification, Ye Tian was momentarily stunned and quickly shook his head: "Of course not. We've met once before, and I didn't expect to encounter each other so coincidentally this time. I'm really grateful."

While Ye Tian thanked Lu Yunqi, he was full of doubts.

The dog food points he just received were obviously due to his sister's misunderstanding about Lu Yunqi and their relationship.

But the acquisition of dog food points requires the target to feel emotions like envy or jealousy. It's obviously impossible for himself to feel that, so it must be Lu Yunqi. Could it be that his sister also wanted to start dating? Thinking this, Ye Tian couldn't help but glance at his sister, realizing that the little girl who used to cling to him had also grown up.

Seeing that Ye Tian didn't seem to be lying, Ye Xi felt a sense of relief and smiled at Lu Yunqi: "Thank you for your help just now, my brother and I really didn't know what to do."

"You're too polite, little sister. It's our fault that such a thing happened in the hospital, and we should be the ones apologizing. Rest assured, if you need anything, just ask the nurses to contact me."

Lu Yunqi spoke softly, her gaze falling on Ye Tian with a hint of disgust as she said, "Mr. Ye, please stay with your sister for a while. Come to my office later, I have something to discuss with you."

Ye Tian, with his keen perception, didn't miss the disgust in Lu Yunqi's eyes. He had felt that Lu Yunqi seemed to have some opinions about him since their first meeting at Su Mei's villa. Despite feeling somewhat inexplicably strange, Ye Tian nodded and agreed.

After Lu Yunqi left, Ye Tian chatted with his sister for a while before leaving the ward with a puzzled heart to find Lu Yunqi.

As the daughter of the hospital director, Lu Yunqi was well-known in the hospital. After asking a nurse, Ye Tian arrived at the director's office and knocked on the door.

"Come in!"

Hearing Lu Yunqi's voice, Ye Tian pushed the door open and entered.

The office was clearly not a place for medical consultations but for administrative work. The decoration was simple, with only a desk, a sofa, and a large bookshelf. The walls were adorned with pennants.

Lu Yunqi sat behind the desk, engrossed in writing something. She had changed from her white lab coat to a black suit, giving off a youthful yet irresistible charm, different from Su Mei's sophisticated elegance.

"Sit down for a while, I'm dealing with some things," Lu Yunqi said without looking up, continuing her work.

Ye Tian frowned slightly but remained seated, knowing she had just helped him. As time passed, he realized that Lu Yunqi was intentionally keeping him waiting. Despite the discomfort and curiosity, he waited patiently.

After half an hour, Lu Yunqi finally looked up at Ye Tian, her face full of inquiry.

"Miss Lu, why did you ask me to come here?" Ye Tian, feeling uncomfortable under her gaze, straightened up and asked.

"When did you meet Mei'er?" Lu Yunqi didn't answer Ye Tian's question but instead asked sharply.

"A few days ago." Mentioning Su Mei, Ye Tian felt somewhat guilty about the incident that night. Now, facing her best friend, he naturally felt uneasy.

Lu Yunqi's expression seemed to confirm her suspicions as she stared at Ye Tian with a tinge of disgust and questioned:

"You approached Su Mei for money, right? But I know her personality. How could she possibly like you?"

Hearing this, Ye Tian's expression shifted slightly.

Although he and Su Mei had signed a marriage agreement, it was mostly due to what happened that night. It wouldn't be right to take advantage of her and then ignore everything. The agreement was mutually beneficial for both, but it was purely transactional, a product of coincidence, and not deception for money.

Later, due to Mr. Su's incident, their relationship underwent subtle changes, and they stopped mentioning the agreement. Except for the final barrier, their relationship seemed to evolve naturally.

Ye Tian felt some guilt towards Su Mei. Their intimate night was purely coincidental,

 but as a woman and a goddess, she was at a disadvantage.

So even though he was uncomfortable, Ye Tian suppressed his feelings and said indifferently:

"Our relationship is complicated, but it's not what you think."

"I don't care what happened between you two, but I won't allow anyone to deceive Mei'er's feelings for money. Don't tell me that money and gold didn't come from her." Lu Yunqi slammed the table and stood up, saying sternly:

"I understand you're trying to treat your sister, but you can't deceive others' feelings for that. I can pay for your sister's treatment, but I hope you leave Mei'er."

Ye Tian's eyes narrowed slightly as he stood up, no longer bothering to explain. As he walked out, he said coldly:

"I appreciate your relationship with Mei'er and understand your actions, but it's better not to jump to conclusions without understanding the situation. My sister will be discharged in a few days, and she won't need your concern. As for Mei'er..."

Ye Tian's mind flashed back to the scene where Su Mei encountered the black car driver and lay in his arms with tears on her face. He couldn't help but smile:

"I will make her happy!"

To Lu Yunqi, Ye Tian's words sounded like a deliberate taunt, and she watched him leave the office. Unable to hold back, she threw a folder out and cursed loudly:

"Ye Tian! You scoundrel! Bastard! Emotional cheater! Heartbreaker!"

Damn it!

Seeing the strange looks from passing doctors and nurses and the additional dog food points, Ye Tian didn't know whether to cry or laugh.
