"Olivia, you're perfectly fine," Candice announced. The way she tried to be perfect made me want to search her face and pull off the mask she wore. But I also didn't have such guts. I couldn't even bother with doing that now.

Once Candice finished, she left the chamber and Devon turned to glare at me.

"So you are escaping training, huh? I guess people do change after all."

Devon smiled a little and tried to fight the smile from spreading more on his face.

"I can't believe that you can now form words." He said. "I can't wait till you begin to speak more fluently."

The way he rubbed my head after speaking, it felt so affectionate. I couldn't help but smile.

"Alpha." I called. He smiled at me all the more, his palm was still spread around my hair.
