I sprang up from my position beside Olivia, then turned back to her as she gave a small gasp. I'd accidentally yanked her hand in the process.
"I'm sorry, my love. Go back to bed." I murmured in her ears and she relaxed into the pillows. I looked into her eyes, the fear in them mirroring the one I felt in my heart. Then I turned back to the guard.
"How did you find out about this?" I asked him.
"His troops are setting up camp on the north wall, alpha." The guard explained. "Our spies saw them this morning. The most recent report is that they hav spreaded their camp to the east and south walls."
I frowned, a hand on my jaw. "My best guess is they want to trap us within our own border for a few days, maybe weeks, until we give up and engage them in battle. They want to coerce the fight out of us."
"What should I tell our own troops?" The guard asked.
