CHAPTER 72: A TURNING POINT

*ENGLAND*

In the tranquil suburbs of England, the tension between Adam and Jennifer reached a breaking point. Adam, a man in his early thirties with striking features, paced the living room. Opposite him stood Jennifer, her beauty marred by visible pain and frustration.

“I told you, Jennifer, I won’t adopt anyone. That’s final!” Adam’s voice carried an edge of finality, though guilt lingered beneath his firm tone.

Jennifer’s hands trembled as she clutched the back of a chair. Her voice cracked. “Adam, why? You knew from the very beginning that I couldn’t have children. Why are you so against adoption?”

Adam looked away, unable to meet her tearful gaze. “I understand your pain, but this isn’t the solution. We can’t just bring a child into our lives to fix everything.”
