Chapter 80 A Step Forward

Shawn stepped out of the bar's back office, adjusting his sleeves. “Hey, Joseph! Don’t forget to lock the back door tonight. I saw it wide open earlier. We can’t risk it.”

Joseph, the bartender, turned from wiping a glass and gave an apologetic grin. “Sure thing, boss. I promise I won’t forget this time.”

“Oh, and boss,” Joseph added, a mischievous glint in his eye, “a few customers have been complaining about the singers lately. They said they’re… well, a little washed up. They keep asking when your sister will perform again. You know Olivia’s still their favorite.”

Shawn chuckled. “Is that so? Alright, she should be around soon enough. I’ll make sure she gives them a show. By the way, no issues with the singers, right? I saw you and Jenny exchanging words earlier.”

Joseph’s smile wavered, but he quickly recovered. “Nah, nothing serious. You know how she is—temperamental but talented. We just deal with it.”
