Adele arrived at her record label, acknowledging the greetings from staff as she made her way to her destination.
“Ah, Adele! I didn’t know you were coming today,” a receptionist said, standing to greet her.
“Don’t worry. I just came to see James. Is he in his office?” Adele asked.
“Yes, I’ll inform him now.” The secretary quickly placed a call and then nodded. “Okay, you can go inside.”
Adele nodded in acknowledgment and walked towards the office. She knocked, and a voice from behind the door responded, “Come in.”
James, seated inside, stood up upon seeing Adele and gestured for her to take a seat. Her unexpected visit surprised him—she usually informed him beforehand.
“Good morning, Adele. I wasn’t expecting you today. You usually let me know in advance.”
“Oh, I didn’t think that was necessary,” Adele said coolly. Then, her expression hardened. “I’ll get straight to the point, James. Why did you cancel Hamza’s contract without informing me?”
