"Why am I here?" Bruce looked at Ms. Kane with a tired expression.
"We're finally moving the DearCroft Event Planners into their office for the next month!" Clara sat in her high-back chair, her pale blond hair up in an elegant bun and wearing a long, lace dress, "Aren't you at all excited, Bruce?"
Bruce took a long calming sigh before he spoke, "I have an extremely important mission to go on with the boss this evening."
"You have hours to go before that!"
"I know. But I need to arrange things both here and at the mafia house before I leave."
Clara waved a dismissive hand, "Showing them into their new office won't take too long! It's also one of your duties since you're supposed to oversee everything for the next few weeks anyway, Bruce! Come on!"
Bruce looked around at the office as though looking for some kind of help, "Well, alright. But I cant spare more than fourty five minutes."
Clara rolled her eyes at the tall man in front of her, "I'm almost entirely certain that that will change once a certain pretty brunette enters the hotel."
Bruce cleared his throat, "I made my thoughts on the matter quite clear to you yesterday."
"Your thoughts maybe," Clara sighed dreamily with a calming tone in her voice, "But not your feelings!"
Bruce could feel a slow headache slowly creeping on him, "My feelings don't influence my actions. My thoughts do. In that regard, Master Adonis Kane and I always see eye to eye."
Clara rolled her eyes, her fingers tapping together, "I know. You're both so boring, in that regard."
Bruce shook his head, "There was definitely a problem yesterday."
Clara's ears perked up, "What?"
Bruce still stood in front of her, "I've hired three agents to hang around here for the next month."
The blond raised an eyebrow, "Why?"
"They are to assist with the coming party and the preparations."
"I see."
"However, I'm getting the feeling I picked the wrong people for the job."
Clara's eyes widened in surprise, "Oh? Why is that, may I ask?"
Bruce shook his head, "The Dearcrofts were here at the hotel for dinner the night before last. At the time, one of the three agents I'd specifically hired for this job caused quite a scene with one of the Dearcrofts."
Clara frowned, "I was not aware of this."
Bruce only nodded in response, "From my understanding, they had a huge fight outside."
"The girl or the boy?" Clara questioned.
"The girl but there's another girl."
"I haven't met her yet."
"That's right."
"I see," Clara frowned again as she began to think, "They know each other from somewhere else, I presume? The Dearcrofts seem fairly professional. I'm surprised this incident happened on the day before they officially start their job. Worst of all, at our own hotel."
Bruce nodded, "I was not to happy about it either but the girl, from what I observed when I first met them at their dinner table, did not seem prone to hysterics. She did, however, look quite overwhelmed during her fight with our agent."
Clara nodded, "I see. How odd. What were they fighting about."
Bruce shrugged, "I didn't ask. I can enquire with the agent himself or the guards at the front of the hotel."
The blond heiress shook her head, "Leave it be, Bruce. I don't want to touch on anything personal before we even know them. If something else comes up though, look into it."
Bruce nodded, "Understood."
"You mentioned something happening yesterday?"
"Yes."
"Another fight."
Bruce sighed and denied, "No. This time, I'd given specific instructions to the three to stay two floors below us. They were to be called when necessary."
"Okay?"
"I found one of the agents wandering around outside the Main VIP Parlour an hour after my instructions."
Clara quirked an eyebrow, "That usually doesn't fly you. What did you do?"
Bruce's voice was gruff, "The idiot said something about getting lost. I chewed her out of course. Master Adonis was inside the parlour with your father too. She had no business being there."
"You think she was doing something suspicious?"
Bruce shook his head no, "I've seen her records. I doubt it. But if I catch her slacking again, she won't be around here or the mafia house anymore."
Clara cringed, "You don't really fire anyone at the mafia house, do you?"
"We execute them," Bruce said simply, "Can't just let them get hired somewhere else. They're agents. They know how we work and all the business we're upto. Firing them would be impossible. Straight up silencing them is what should be done."
Clara laughed uncomfortable, "That sounds lovely. But let's be a little gentler on them till they really mess up, okay? There's a lot of consequences for something so harmless."
Bruce nodded, "That's why they should be careful. But I really think they shouldn't be here at all."
"Now, now," Clara interrupted, "Bruce, I don't want you so harsh here at the hotel as you are at the mafia house."
"But-"
"This is a hotel. No one's life is in danger here, Bruce. I want you to be less brutal here. Especially with the Dearcrofts."
"I don't know about that."
"Well, I have faith that they'll change your opinion about them in no time!"
"We'll see."
There was a knock on the door.
"Yes?" Clara called.
An attendant entered the room, "Ms. Kane, Mr. Slader, the Dearcrofts have arrived."
Clara clapped her hands together, "Right on time too. Aren't they punctual, Bruce?"
Bruce turned away with a glare.
"Show them in please!"
The man nodded before leaving the room.
A few minutes later, the door was opened by a beautiful blond girl. She gave the two wealthy people in the room polite smiles before entering. Walking upto Clara Kane, she extended a hand, "Hello, my name is Leah Dearcroft. We did not meet yesterday. I am one of the Event Planners at DearCroft Event Planners."
Bruce watched her form. She was a pretty girl. She had a nice figure and was dressed to perfectly fit the situation. Her demeanor was gracious and she seemed quite sincere. She looked over at Bruce and smiled before walking upto him with an extended hand.
Bruce shook Leah Dearcroft's hand.
It was delicate and soft to the touch but the grip was firm.
He nodded.
He liked the girl already. He couldn't believe she had caused quite a stir at dinner a day ago.
In walked Rayne Dearcroft with his other gorgeous cousin.
The cousin Bruce's eyes flew to check out before he froze, knowing Clara was watching him with a sly smile.
