Chapter 185

Bruce Slader looked up from the table.

The Kanes were laughing together and having a great time as usual.

Chairman Kane had joined them, and Clara Kane had pounced to hug the man. They did rather act as though they had not seen each other in years. It seemed like their favourite thing to do to Bruce.

Adonis Kane was quiet as he always was. Just quiet smiled and he joined in with a comment here and there.

Bruce nodded at all the jokes and was rather enjoying the company himself.

It was not often that he got the chance to spend time with the Kanes. He was always relaxed around them. Like he had come home after a long week of good work.

It was something that soothed him to be in the company of the happy Kanes.

He enjoyed it but he could sense there was something going on behind him.

It was mostly because of Adonis Kane's sharp gaze that flitted to someone behind him minute to minute.
