UNFAVORABLE TURNS OF EVENTS.

CHAPTER 17: UNFAVORABLE TURNS OF EVENTS.

Justin gently slowed down the Bugatti, and parked by the side of the road. He sighed frustratedly, as he never foresaw such an outcome.

The police man alighted from his patrol car and approached Justin's car. He knocked on his side window, and Justin responded by winding down his window.

"Hello officer," Justin greeted, smiling.

"Hello sir. "I'm pretty sure you know why you've been pulled over, right?" the police asked calmly, looking at Justin.

"Not really. Did I do something wrong?" Justin asked, feigning ignorance.

"Yeah. You violated one of the driving rules in the state of New York, going beyond the speed limit," the police man answered.

"Oh, did I? I didn't notice," Justin replied, laughing nervously. "I must have got caught up in the moment. I truly am sorry about that officer. It won't happen again."

"You bet," the police man retorted. He took a closer look at the car Justin was driving, nodding his head, as he pursed his lips. Somewhat jealous.

"Can I see your driving license?" the police man requested.

"Oh! Yeah, license." Justin ran his hands around his body searching for his wallet. He couldn't find it.

"Sorry officer, I must not have taken it," Justin revealed, as his heart began getting distraught.

"Okay," the police man nodded, smirking.

"Let me have the car papers," the police man requested further.

Justin quickly unlocked the glove box and brought them out. He had seen them there when he first explored the car.

"Here," he handed them to the officer.

The officer nonchalantly received it, and went through the documents and found Mr Bishop's name written on all the documents. He furrowed his brow, as this had gotten more interesting to him.

"What did you say your name was again?" the officer asked.

"I didn't say what my name was," Justin replied, discerning his wittiness.

The officer glared at Justin, saying within himself, 'He's trying to play smart huh?'

"What is your name?" he asked.

"Justin. Justin Adams," he replied the officer.

"But that doesn't look like the name on this documents. Now does it?" the officer questioned, pointing a finger at the documents, slightly tilting his head.

Justin gulped, refraining from saying that Mr Bishop was his father.

"Officer, this car was gifted me by Mr Bishop."

"Oh, did he now?" the officer said sarcastically, scoffing.

"Step out of the car please."

Justin sighed, shaking his head in disbelief, and frustration, as stepped out of the car.

The officer asked Justin to turn around and had him handcuffed.

"Officer, I didn't do anything wrong," Justin said calmly.

"We'll find out, won't we?" he replied, dragging Justin to his car.

He then went on to put a call across to the station, requesting that they come get Justin's car from the highway and have it impounded.

A few moments later, some of the cops arrived and he drove off with Justin to the station, as they got his car impounded.

As he drove to the station, the officer got his phone and dialed Gomez's number.

"Hello, Mr Gomez. You won't believe what I just encountered."

Hearing that, Justin smirked, knowing he was going to be out of his custody in no time.

__________

Detective Savannah and her partner, Riley, drove all the way to Long Island Beach, to the specified location Chief Bobby had given her.

"I hope this hour long trip will be worth it," Riley said as he looked for a suitable parking spot.

"Quit whining. The drive wasn't even up to an hour," Detective Savannah scoffed.

Riley found a spot and parked. They got out of the car and headed to the beach, walking in the sand.

"Is it always this crowded?" Riley asked.

"Only during this season," Detective Savannah answered.

"You seem to know this place quite well," Riley observed.

"Yup! How could I ever forget?" she responded, having a quick flashback of a painful memory she's kept hidden for years.

"Well, what exactly are we looking for? How do we find him in the midst of all these people?" Riley asked, as they both walked around looking carefully.

Detective Savannah noticed a man waving at her from the watch tower.

"This way Riley," she said heading to the watch tower. Riley followed after her.

As they got to the watch tower, climbing on to it, she stealthily opened the door, peeping through, with one hand on her gun.

"Heard you wanted to talk to me, Detective?"

Detective Savannah looked carefully and saw that it was the man they had come to see, Lincoln. So, she lowered her guard.

"Yes. I came to see you," she said, walking in.

"This is my partner, Riley," she introduced as he walked in.

"Have a seat," Lincoln offered.

They both nodded in acknowledgement, sitting down. Up close, they saw the various tattoos the covered his body. It gave Detective Savannah the creeps.

"Thank you for agreeing to meet with us. Recent events between your former gang and their rival has led me to come meet you for intel," Detective Savannah began.

"It's with regards to the killings the other night huh?" Lincoln asked.

"It is," Detective Savannah replied, "Do you know why they had that altercation? What caused it?"

"Hmm," Lincoln pondered. "Honestly, I do not know why they had that altercation."

Detective Savannah felt disappointed, sighing.

"But what I do know is that The Night Clan were the aggressors. They did something that really pissed off The Bulls Clan to cause them to retaliate they way they did."

Detective Savannah squinted her eyes reasoning.

"And from my experience with the formation they had that night, The Night Clan must have been conveying something."

"Something that must have belonged and is dear to The Bulls Clan," she added.

"Exactly!" Lincoln affirmed.

"So now the question is, what was it?" Riley said.

"Hmm," Detective Savannah sighed, as they all reasoned for a while.

"If you need more information, I should recommend you to the one man who should know," Lincoln said, calling the detectives attention.

"Who is that?" Riley asked.

"He goes by the name, The Informant."

"But no one ever knows where to find him," Riley said.

"Yes. He's found only by men of great means in the underworld. Or if he makes himself accessible, for specific reasons," Lincoln explained.

"Alright then. That'll be all for now. Thank you for your help," Detective Savannah said, standing up.

"Anytime," Lincoln acknowledged.

Detective Savannah and Riley walked back to their car and began heading back to the station.

"Do you think we should mingle with the likes of The Informant's kind, just to solve this case?" Riley asked.

"How else are we going to solve it? We are limited. So yeah, we need to mingle with the likes of The Informant," Detective Savannah replied, looking out the window as she thought.
