At dusk, Lorna parked the car by the roadside and hugged Zane to watch the stars in the sky together. There were benefits to being out in the wild; in New York, the city that never sleeps, the starlight was often obscured by the city lights. Zane hadn't seen such a beautiful Milky Way in a long time.
For a moment, the two remained silent, quietly enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.
But at that moment, the roar of a motorcycle engine accompanied by a towering flame suddenly came from behind them.
Zane furrowed his brows and turned to look. He saw a motorcycle enveloped in fiery red flames speeding along the road they had just passed. The high temperature left a trail of burnt grass and flowers along its path, even scorch marks extended along the road into the distance.
Sitting on the motorcycle was a skeleton figure wrapped in flames and wearing a leather jacket. A bright red iron chain still wrapped around him.
"Ghost Rider?" Zane muttered to himself.
It was really unfortunate to encounter this guy on a leisure trip. The Ghost Rider used to be a stunt motorcycle actor, but later, in order to cure his father's terminal illness, he made a deal with the Demon Lord Mephisto. Mephisto trapped the soul of the vengeful angel Zarathos in Johnny's body, allowing him to transform into the Ghost Rider at night.
This guy was a morally ambiguous character. He had his own way of judging the sins of the world. What might be considered a saintly person to the world could be an unforgivable scoundrel in the eyes of the Ghost Rider. Conversely, someone who was considered extremely sinful in the world might be judged innocent by the Ghost Rider.
In summary, whether someone was guilty or not was largely determined by the Ghost Rider, or more accurately, by the soul of the vengeful angel Zarathos within him.
And once he deemed someone guilty, the Ghost Rider would burn them with Hellfire. For those deeply sinful individuals, he would use the Judgement Eye to burn their souls, preventing them from reincarnating forever. For him, sinful souls were his delicacy.
Although this guy had the backing of the Demon Lord Mephisto, Zane wouldn't go easy on him. With Zane's current strength, he was no less inferior to Mephisto's true form in hell, not to mention that Mephisto was currently just a projection in the human world, and a projection suppressed by human laws at that.
Just as Zane was about to teach this bastard who disturbed him a lesson, the Ghost Rider seemed to have noticed something and gradually slowed down, finally stopping beside Zane's car.
The hollow eye sockets of the Ghost Rider suddenly emitted two dazzling flames, staring at Zane. Internally, he was shocked to the extreme; he had never encountered someone with such deep sins before. All the people he had killed before combined couldn't compare to one-thousandth of Zane's sins, including Mephisto's son, the Blackheart.
To know, Zane had personally slaughtered millions of people in Wakanda five years ago. With such a record, there was no one in the world more evil than Zane.
Sensing Zane, the vengeful angel inside the Ghost Rider also became excited. Right now, in his eyes, Zane was a sumptuous feast!
"You... are guilty!" The Ghost Rider's voice sounded like bones grinding together, sending shivers down one's spine.
Lorna also sensed that this monster was unfriendly. She was no longer the canary who could only be protected by Zane; she was now a warrior who had seen blood. So she immediately activated her powers, intending to control the iron chain entwined around the Ghost Rider.
But the iron chain wrapped in Hellfire seemed to isolate magnetic fields. Lorna tried several times but found she couldn't control it at all. Besides her beloved car, there were no other metal objects around. She was reluctant to use her precious car to attack this skeleton.
Lorna could also sense the metal buried underground, but it seemed too late to control them now because the Ghost Rider had already torn off the chain on his body and was swinging it towards them.
Just as Lorna was feeling troubled, Zane patted her shoulder.
"This guy is still too early for you. Leave him to me."
"Mm."
After saying that, Zane activated the [King's Treasury]. However, this time, nothing was shot out from the vault. Instead, a small cannon, with a barrel as thick as an adult's head, extended from the golden ripples. In the next moment, the cannon automatically absorbed the energy from [Magic Furnace] and then released a brilliant blue energy beam, directly shattering the chain thrown by the Ghost Rider into pieces.
This was a small energy weapon developed by Skynet. The power of medium and large weapons was too great, and Zane was afraid it might affect Lorna, so he didn't use them.
The scattered bones piled up on the ground, with small sparks still flickering on them. However, Zane didn't think that the Ghost Rider, who claimed to be immortal, would be defeated so easily.
As expected, in the next instant, the Hellfire jumping on the bones erupted violently like gasoline had been poured on them. It enveloped all the bone fragments, reassembled them, and in a moment, the Ghost Rider reappeared intact in front of Zane and Lorna.
"Sinner, I am immortal. Stop struggling in vain and pay for your sins!"
Yes, from a certain perspective, the Ghost Rider was indeed immortal. The source of his power was the vengeful angel within him. As long as the vengeful angel wasn't destroyed, he would continue to be reborn to pursue those who were guilty. However, the life and death of the vengeful angel were controlled by God, that is, Jehovah. As long as God didn't intervene, he would never die.
Facing his arrogance, Zane sneered disdainfully.
