Cute Raccoon

In the Ark, Rocket Raccoon felt relieved when he realized that the Robots didn't intend to send him back to be rebuilt. But then, he revealed his tough guy persona again.

"Hey, big guy, don't give me a chance, or I'll twist your head off and shove it up your ass," Rocket barked, showing his teeth at the magnetic robots.

Though he tried to look fierce, his appearance, identical to Earth raccoons, made him oddly cute.

However, as guardians of the Ark, the magnetic robots lacked emotional modules and ignored Rocket's threats.

Expressionless, Rocket and Groot headed to the ecopark.

As for Groot's reaction during the journey, let's just ignore this goofy guy.

Probably only Rocket on the Ark could understand what Groot meant by 'I am Groot.'

When Rocket and Groot were thrown into the raccoon habitat on Earth, Groot stared blankly at the chaotic raccoons and the stunned Rocket.

A newly grown twig pointed to Rocket and the cute raccoons standing upright in the ecopark, aware of their arrival.

"I am Groot."

"I'm not the same as these low-class mammals!" Rocket roared at Groot.

"I am Groot."

"I'm unique, how could I look like these guys!"

"I am Groot."

"Fine, as long as you're happy..."

Seeing he couldn't reason with Groot, Rocket plopped down on the ground.

His eyes rolled, pondering how to escape the Ark with Groot unharmed. With 22 successful escapes under his belt, he was confident they'd make it.

But little did he know, this situation might deviate from his expectations.

Meanwhile, the raccoons in Ecopark, sensing no malice from the newcomers, cautiously approached.

Some bold female raccoons even came up to Rocket, grooming him affectionately.

Perhaps even Rocket himself didn't realize his appeal among the raccoons.

But as the raccoons, devoid of intelligence and driven only by animal instincts, kept crowding around him, Rocket, touched somewhere deep inside, went mad, grabbing a nearby twig and shooing them away.

Maybe even Rocket didn't notice the faint envy in his eyes as he watched these pure raccoons.

Born out of illegal genetic experiments, Rocket had always been an outcast, ridiculed and scorned.

He had armed himself with a temper and guns, driving away those who meant him harm.

Until he met Groot, finding a glimmer of warmth in this cold universe.

He had thought he was the only freak in the universe until he saw so many like him, yet naturally existing.

Rocket felt a whirlwind of emotions—confusion, anger, envy, and a hint of joy.

As the shooed-away raccoons gathered around Groot, emanating a natural aura, they found solace.

Some daring raccoon cubs even climbed onto Groot, curious about the green leaves.

"I am Groot," Groot happily exclaimed.

Sitting nearby, Rocket, his emotions mixed, didn't argue with Groot but instead focused on planning their escape.

"Groot, stop playing around. Come with me and see if we can find anything useful," Rocket impatiently said.

"I am Groot."

"I don't like this place. Hurry up, let's go."

With that, Rocket left the raccoon habitat, leaving behind reluctant female raccoons.

Though Groot enjoyed the company of so many 'Rockets' here, he gently dispersed the playful raccoons when the real Rocket left, then hurried to catch up, matching Rocket's anxious pace.

Though Rocket was fleeing, he felt more like he was running away...

As for what exactly he was escaping, even he wasn't sure.

"I am Groot."

"I'm not unhappy, I just..."

"Sigh... Forget it, you won't understand, you wooden head," Rocket sighed, head bowed.

It was only when he was alone with Groot that Rocket showed his vulnerable side.

Seeing Rocket's dejected expression, Groot blinked, then gently patted Rocket's furry head with his newly grown hand.

"I am Groot."

"Thanks!"

Whatever Groot said, after 'thanks,' Rocket perked up, refocusing on exploring the Ark's ecopark.

Time passed, and after a day of exploration, Rocket realized the place where he and Groot were imprisoned was like a huge birdcage.

There were various strange flora and fauna here, completely unfamiliar to Rocket, even after traversing half the galaxy.

And there was no trace of technology, meaning no means for Rocket to fashion weapons.

Though protected by the mighty guardian Groot, for now, they were safe, but Rocket's heart sank.

Unlike Groot, who seemed to enjoy the ecopark's environment, his mood turned sour.

To him, Zane's ecopark felt like...

Well, like a petting zoo.

And there were no cracks in the ecopark's walls, no way out.

Rocket suddenly realized he might not have a way to escape.

Frustrated, he hurled the twig in his hand, but then, something unexpected happened.

A majestic elephant, leisurely picking up fresh leaves with its long trunk, appeared where Rocket's twig landed.

Seeing the enormous creature, Rocket smirked knowingly.

Two minutes later, Rocket and Groot rode the startled elephant, charging toward the ecopark's walls.
