Chapter 7 :Alleyway

THIRD POV～

 Walking out of the mansion with a huff Pearl takes out her earphones and places it in her ear before she starts playing music while walking down the street her face void of any emotion.

 She walks around with no fear whatsoever occasionally bobing her head to the music. 

 Walking pass the dead and silent street she hears some noise in the alleyway close by but decides to ignore it.

 Deciding to just keep walking and even wanting to increase the volume of her song.

 ''The fuck do you want''She hears Nicholas's voice and at that moment she waalks back and towards tge dark corner.

 The corner is dark except for a small street light making the place to appear dim.

 Her eyes land on Nicholas who is sorrounded by four hefty men.each holding a knife while facing Nicholas who is glaring at them.

 ''You can't escape this time''The man on the left says and swings the knife towards Nicholas who effortlessly dodges the knife and punches the man.

 The other men seeing these all decide to pounce on him at once not to give him any chance to fight or to recover.

 Seeing and sensing what they are about to do Pearl steps out of the shadows.

 ''Hello 911,There is a man being attacked'' Pearl says her phone to her ear as she pretends to call the cops intentionally letting her voice come out loud.

 The men turn to look at her and instantly their faces turn dark as they glare at her.

''What do you think you are doing''The bulkiest of the men asks stalking towards her.

 ''Oh you guys will soon get here''She shouts into the phone and instantly the men panick and their leader signals for them to go and they run away.

 Their master had warned them not to get caught.

 After they leave the place Pearl sighs dropping her phone and turns to walk away only to feel someone hold her wrist.

 Turning she is faced with Nicholas's gold coloured orbs starring at her.

 ''Thank you''He whispers which makes her surprised as the man has never apologized or even thanked her ever since they have known each other.

 ''you're welcome Morelli''And with that she turns to go but now she forcefully tugged towards Nicholas.

 ''I mean it Emerson''Nicholas says starring deep into her eyes like he is searching for something.

 Sighing Pearl moves away from his grip and raises her head to look at him in his eyes.

 ''I know''She says and turns to walk away again.

 ''Pearl''Nicholas calls out and she stops walking.

 ''You know my name''Pearl says sarcastically reffering to all the time he has called her 'Emerson'.

 Nicholas chuckles at her words before walking towards her.

 ''And you know mine''He says before standing infront of her''Friends''He says his hand outstretched for a handshake making Pearl to raise a brow.

 ''Is the great Nicholas Morelli asking me to be his friend''Pearl says placing her hand on her chest in mock astonishment and Nicholas throws his head back laughing at her actions.

 ''Yes I am Pearl Emerson''He says before wiggling his brows mischeavously''Else you want me to ask for something else'' He says with a teasing light tone while Pearl scoffs at his words now glarring at him.

 ''What if I refuse''She asks curiously to which Nicholas's smile falls.

 ''You won't''He says cockly and she raises a brow before turning to walk away from him.

 ''You haven't answered Emerson''Nicholas yells after her and she turns to look at him. 

 ''Let me think about it''She yells back and Nicholas cannot stop himself from laughing remembering he told her those same words.

 Nodding at himself the smile still on his lips he runs towards her before wrapping his arms around her shoulders.

 Surprised Pearl pushes him away and Nicholas passes her a hurt expression only to receive an eyeroll in return.

 ''I thought we are best friends''He says the pout still on his face and Pearls glare intensifies.
