Chapter 65 - Eden

With the unity of the survivors, the base was finally completed after another two weeks of working. Along with the completion of the houses that surround the headquarters and the Sanctuary Portal buildings, there could also be found walls that keep the place safe on the outside, watchtowers to keep watch of the place, canteens where everyone could gather around and eat, and the most important thing was the fact that there were solar panels in every house making the survivors finally have the electricity to use for daily lives.

Right now, as everyone has finally completed the base, the survivors of the Rangers Group are very excited seeing them all gathered in one place as they were being oriented by the shelter owners with their arrangements in the shelter.

On the other hand, the Lifestyle Group has been given some time to rest for a couple of days as they would be working again after some time and their target this time around was none other than to the other country.

"I never thought that it would be finished this soon. I thank you all for the efforts that you've given for the base and as I promised, I will properly give you all rewards later but for now, let us celebrate the reconstruction of the base which will be called 'Eden'. This will be the name of our base from now on." Zach announced to everybody after finally finishing everything on Earth. He then just also gave the base a name so it would be memorable knowing that this is where they begin their journey.

Following that, Zach immediately ordered the survivors who had Chef Classes to start preparing for the party tonight. He also planned to have the survivors of the other countries come here so that they could get to know more of each other since from now on, they will be colleagues that would watch each other's backs.

With that, Zach ordered Anna, the head of the Lifestyle Group to give the rewards he had promised to the people under her while leaving the matters to Ethan and the rest of the shelter owners to distribute the rewards to the Rangers under them which was none other than, a complete set of ordinary gloves, boots, pants, garment, arm guards, and the weapon of their choosing.

Everyone was delighted by the gift they received especially the Rangers as they couldn't help exclaiming seeing Zach giving out items like they were nothing which only proves that he really would not treat them unfairly. It was already enough to have that many items, however, when someone with an Appraisal Skill took a look at the information, everyone's excitement rose to the peak as it was just too abnormal upon seeing them all rated as two stars.

The Shelter Owners, on the other hand, were no longer surprised since all of their items had already been replaced by bronze-class items after being given by Zach. Such items, however, weren't enhanced but it was still already a good thing to have. After settling everything, they then took each of the Rangers under them to settle their residences in their respective shelters.

Zach, however, ordered Eun Ae, the manager of the Undead Enclave Shelter, to take the ten carefully selected Rangers assigned to him and have them settle in the shelter as he had something to do which was to invite the people from the other countries to come to Eden to celebrate the foundation of the base.

Talking about shelter. Ethan's shelter is called 'Wolves Den'. Mike's shelter is called 'Muddy Swamp'. Carl's shelter is called 'Monkey Island'. Isabelle's shelter is called 'Night Forest'. Viktor's shelter is called 'Rocky Mountain'. Patricia's shelter is called 'Sea Garden'. Kevin's shelter was called Frozen Haven. Lastly, Allen's shelter is called 'Death Dessert'.

It was only by knowing the names of their shelter did Zach theorized that the name of the shelter must have something to do with the place or to be precise, the shelter's name might also be the name of the place where the shelter was situated.

Time passed by and night came for everybody, survivors with different ethnicities could be found enjoying themselves together and getting to know each other though there was a little awkwardness in the beginning because, unlike the survivors who were with Zach in the first place, it was the first time in a long time did the other survivors of the other countries had a celebration.

Everyone was wasted as they celebrated the foundation of Eden and it was one of the most joyous days they had before they finally fell asleep. However, unlike the ordinary survivors who just enjoyed the party, some people were quite surprised knowing just how rich Zach was as they couldn't imagine how much Evolution Coins was spent on the celebration.

The next day came and everyone had sobered up from the party they had last night. Though they drank quite a lot, it didn't seem to affect them that much anymore probably because their bodies had changed. On the other hand, due to celebration, some people have tied the knot while most gained friendship.

As it was a big day today, everyone waited for further instructions as Zach and the shelter owners could be found in the meeting room on the third floor of the headquarters building. As Eden had finally finished, it was now time to move on and have the Rangers finally head to Pluto Sanctuary to explore and Zach have also decided to have all the Rangers of the other countries do the same to ensure fairness.

However, the discussion they were having right now was about the distribution of Rangers once again after Zach decided to also divide the Rangers he had from the accumulation of survivors from different countries and compensate for the cost they have incurred on renting the place since a person can only become resident of one shelter at a time.

With the addition of the Rangers coming from other countries, Eden has now 328 Rangers which they immediately divide among themselves. It was agreed that Ethan, Mike, Carl, Isabelle, Viktor, Patricia, Kevin, and Allen to have 30 Rangers each while the remaining 88 Rangers would settle on Zach as they reasoned that his shelter should have more since everyone depends on him which Zach could only accept.

It was also discussed in the meeting the responsibilities of Rangers and three were specified. First, the Rangers' main focus is to get strong and level up so they can protect the shelter and Eden as a whole. They are free to do anything they want in Pluto Sanctuary given that they won't harm the other Rangers. However, though they were free, they needed to adhere to the orders of the shelter owners, especially to Zach's orders given that they were not against their will.

Second, the Rangers are responsible for drawing the map of the place that surrounds them and at the same time list all the monsters and beasts they encounter and report them back to the headquarters. Zach also encourages the Rangers to explore the sanctuary in a group of five with one of them having an Appraisal Skill to avoid danger that may kill them.

Lastly, the Rangers are free to keep the loot they have acquired during their exploration. However, Zach encouraged everyone to register the new items that they acquired from their exploration to the office of the Rangers in the headquarters building under Zoey's management so that they could accumulate information, and by doing such thing, the Rangers Office will give them compensation.

Moreover, the Rangers office will also accept if they want to sell or trade the item they have acquired thus, everything will be at the discretion of the Ranger regarding what he/she will do to the item that he/she acquired.

After finalizing everything in the meeting room, Ethan and the other shelter owners then bid farewell to Zach as they would now head to their respective shelters so they could settle down and have all the Rangers under them informed of what had been discussed in the meeting. With that, each of them took the thirty Rangers with them as they walked towards the portal and disappeared from Eden.

Zach also didn't fall behind as he entered his own shelter together with the 88 Rangers assigned to him and immediately rounded them up as he told them everything that they needed to know as Rangers. It didn't take that much time before everyone was dismissed and started planning for themselves since it was the real thing now.

After that, Zach then returned back to his house wanting to also prepare himself since he planned on heading out for a month to see where it would take him. Upon sitting in the living room, he immediately opened up his status window.

Zach looked at his stats which didn't seem to change the last time he checked except for the newly added passive skill. Seeing the number of his Free Attributable Stat Points, he then just decided to use some of them thinking that it was the best thing to do.

[Vitality: 90]

[Endurance: 90]

[Stamina: 100]

[Spirit: 200/200]

Zach spent more than a hundred of his Free Attributable Stat Points as he distributed them to his Vitality, Endurance, Stamina, and Spirit while leaving some behind as a reserve whenever there was a need for him to use it.

With that, Zach then just spent the rest of the day with his family while trying to take care of Angel as he was sure that he would miss her as he planned on leaving tomorrow morning. Telling them about his plan was the most challenging part after they started protesting that they didn't like him going out that long, but Zach shut all their mouths up when night came.

The next day, Zach didn't even wait for everyone to wake up as he got out of bed however, he first took a look at his daughter and kissed her on the cheeks before finally leaving. After heading out, he could see Rangers coming in and out of the shelter while some could be found resting while talking to each other despite still very early in the morning.

Deciding to head west this time, Zach then just left the Shelter Protective Shield as he started walking away. He kind of actually thinking how great it would be if Adam and Eve could come here so he could use them as a mode of transportation however, it was explicitly mentioned that only humans can use them. In fact, he actually tried it before hoping that it would be possible but the result was just a disappointment as the two dogs couldn't travel through the portal.

'Maybe if I make them my contracted pet will I be able to have them follow me. But, how would I make them my pet?' Zach wondered since he thought that it might be the case. As he had no idea about it, he then just set it aside as he sprinted deep into the forest where he could see Rangers from time to time.

"Hmmm. An ordinary-class Undead Soldier." Zach muttered after seeing an Undead in the distance. Knowing that killing it would still make him progress, he then just took out Battle Sword and cut it into two with no difficulty and immediately looked if it dropped something before taking them to his inventory.

With that, Zach would encounter Undead all the time and he killed them all without mercy as they were just everywhere and didn't seem to decrease. However, meeting bronze-class monsters from time to time was the one thing he looked forward to as they would not only drop good items but also they would give him the chance to test his strength.
