chapter 1: Aiden

"Hi, Han" "Good morning, Han," was all I heard as I walked down the hallway to my class. My class is on the first floor. As I made my way to the class, I was greeted by many people.

"Wait! Han!" I turned my back to see a junior run to me.

"I'm sorry, but can you give this to Aiden?" She said

"Okay... What is this? A love letter?"

She replied with nods, "I can't do it by myself, so can you please help me by giving this to him?"

I just replied with a smile, showing that I agreed.

When I was about to continue my walk, she suddenly gave me another letter, but this time it was for me. "Also, Han, here's another letter from boys in my class... Please don't be too harsh."

I took the letter and just continued my walk without saying anything because, at this point, I'm exhausted.

I went straight to Aiden, who is sitting at his table while talking to his boys, Harvey and Saff. All three are in the group; that is his circle. His circle is quite labeled as "woman's ideal," which makes them quite popular in the school. All three are visual; that's something that can't be denied. All three of them are famous in the school, but it's kind of safe to say that Aiden is the most popular one.

"Aiden, as usual, a letter from the junior for you," I said while handing him the letter.

"Oh, thanks, and here's yours, from the senior..." He said,

And that's our almost everyday life. Trading letters because of juniors and seniors. While Aiden always gets letters from girls, it's kind of weird because I always get letters from boys. I've never gotten a letter from a girl before. It's always boys.

"Is the other one for me too?" Pointing to the letter I received earlier.

"It's from the junior; no, it's for me."

"Wah, it's only 8 in the morning, but you have already received 3 letters? New records, I see," Saff said.

"okay..."

"You will just throw those letters away or read them?" Aiden asked me with a serious expression. THIS. This is what he always asks me! Every time I and he traded letters, this was what he was going to ask me. Like, as if you didn't know my answer already?

"I will read them; it's just letters; they won't kill you."

"Aren't you scared that you might just fall in love with their poetic writings?" He asked me.

Excuse me, what?

"I'm not that sure that I will, but it's a good thing if I did; at least I don't have to break another person's heart."

He just stayed quiet after I said that.

I walk to my table and start reading the letters while waiting for the lesson to start.

A/N

Hi! This is the author of 'it's just an act.' First of all, I want to apologize if there were mistakes in my grammar or language. I tried my best to not make mistakes, but I am sorry if I did because English is not my first language.

Second, please don't give up on this story because the plot is actually quite interesting, I swear. I have to admit that the first few chapters are quite boring because I want to focus on introducing the characters. But I swear that the story is going to be fun as it goes because this story is kind of a slow-burn genre.

Third, this is my first time writing, so if there's a plot hole or anything, I am sincerely sorry.

Lastly, thank you so much for reading this first chapter! I really appreciate the fact that you chose to click on this story and read it. Again, I know this first chapter is quite boring, but please don't give up on me. It will get better as it goes.
