While in a university class one afternoon, student Chloé Masters meets the charismatic Professor Kemal Hakkan. Despite their ten-year age difference, the two are undeniably attracted to one another and shortly after their introduction, they begin a steamy love affair.

When Kemal woke up in the mornings, he had extreme sensitivity to light. That day when he checked on Liliana, she seemed fine, but he had double vision. After a fainting spell, Chloé took him to the doctor. 


The doctor thought it was just a virus or perhaps anemia. Kemal made the point of saying he always cooked plenty of food with iron in it. The doctor suggested that Kemal keep a journal of anything that happened to see if there was a pattern but if he fainted again, to have Kemal go to the hospital. 


They went home that day with Chloé driving and Liliana in the back, smiling. She was a very happy baby and a Daddy's girl for sure. Father and daughter had a very good relationship. 


When they got home, Kemal laid on the couch in the den. Chloé made a fire and put Liliana in her crib. She cried for her dad, but Chloé was nervous that Kemal might make Liliana sick. He felt similarly so it wasn't a fight.
