Lissa, are you sure we're going in the right direction? Melanie asked, her voice laced with skepticism.

Yes, the purple Sanguinem flame leads this way. Don't tell me you can't see anything but Adryan, Melissa replied with a hint of sarcasm.

Urghh, for the millionth time, there's nothing between Adryan and I . He's just a guy I ran into. I didn't even know his name before Ghostball, Melanie clarified. Can we just focus on finding my owl? The Sanguinem is meant to lead me to her... why is it leading us to the wolves?

Because one of them probably has her, duh, Melissa said matter-of-factly. But Annie, I don't like this part of town, Melissa admitted, her voice tinged with unease.

Me neither, but the wolf who stole Aster would like it way less after I'm done with him, Melanie swore, her eyes blazing with determination.

Devon's POV

Ryan, you're finally here! Sit your ass down and prepare to get your balls blown away, Devon exclaimed, shuffling through books with excitement.

What is it, Devon? You know I hate books. The stench of this library is nauseating, Adryan replied nonchalantly.

I remembered the girl you ran into the other day... the one with snow-white skin. You said she had 17 moons, correct?

Her name's Melanie, and yeah, she does have 17 moons. Why? Adryan asked, suddenly interested.

Well, she's the daughter of a demon Lord, Devon revealed, his eyes wide with excitement.

Demon Lord? How do you know that, Dev?

All those years of Ancient history, and your dumb brain couldn't grasp a thing, Adryan teased. Moons occur in a sequence of 4, which increases with age: 4, 12, 16, 20, 24. However, some individuals with the blood of Hades and the blood of Hecate have irregular numbers of moons: 5, 13, 17, 21, 25. The color of eyes and hair show what blood it is, and hence the purple eyes your snow-white possesses, Devon explained.

But... Melanie has red hair, Adryan stated, confusion etched on his face.

Meaning she has a witch mom as well as a demon Lord dad. That's crazy, Devon admitted.

What else do you know, Devon? I don't know a lot, but I know one thing... whoever Melanie Aiire is, she's very, very dangerous, Devon warned. Come on, let's head back up.

Melanie's POV

Annie, the Sanguinem died out. This is it, Melissa said nervously, her eyes fixed on the sign ahead: Noir's Den. Adryan Noir, Melanie growled, her blood boiling as her eyes shimmered a bloody purple.

Adryan's POV

Mum, I'm home, Adryan announced, oblivious to the guests awaiting his return.

Ohh, yes, you are, Melanie emerged from the shadows, her transformation into her 12th demon, Akuma... the demon of fire, sending chills down Adryan's spine.
