GODFATHER CHRISTIAN

Angela looked over to Christian after a while of looking out of the window. She wondered why he was the one God sent to save her. He did not look like the kind of guy who would accept anything that came from her mouth and she spoke in her thoughts to the Holy Spirit 'why this one? I mean, no offence but he looks like someone that could kill me if I tried to show him the Way" But the reply she got back was 'be patient' and that was the only confirmation she needed and she decided to have patience.

Angela's meeting with Christian might seem quite unexpected on Christian's part, but it was not that way for her. She was actually in a tight spot at that moment of her life. Everything seemed to be falling apart for her. Somehow, she lost all her money she stored in an online banking platform and part of it was supposed to be for her rent that was way overdue. She also lost her job all at the same time.

She was beginning to wonder how she'll get through with life when she found herself walking on the lonely road no one seemed to take because of the bad happenings in that area. She kept thinking of how she was going to fix everything, then she saw a car passing by and decided maybe this was a sign to end it all and finally let go of the hard life she has lived for so long. She took out her Bible from her bag and said to her Father "Lord, if this be your will, let it be done".

She forgot about how her faith speaks against the taking of one's life. She forgot about how her Father would see her through it all, because He allowed all that to happen to her. She was just drowning in her emotions, but she still believed that He was there for her because she still prayed to Him even in that moment of deciding to end her life.

When she jumped in front of the car and did not get hit, she knew it was God's way of telling her that He was not done with her yet.

She continued to stare at Christian and saw that he was lost in his thoughts and it did not look like he was having pleasant thoughts at all. She wanted to reach out to him, but felt like she did not have any right to do that... yet. She looked away.

They got to the house and Jerald parked at the garage before coming down to open the car door for Christian. Angela got out herself and went over to meet Christian.

Everyone who saw Angela was surprised. They knew their boss' taste in women and Angela... She was just tasteless. Completely nothing like what Christian would go for. But who dared they to speak a word on the matter.

As he began to walk by, everyone greeted him 'godfather Christian' wherever they passed. Angela was surprised by the whole godfather thing. She started to ask herself 'Isn't that what they call the leaders of an organized body of criminals. Wait, I'm I in the house of a crime boss?' Her eyes slowly widened at her thoughts as she turned to look at him. She wondered what was going on, but decided to keep her mouth shut because she knew her Father would not like it if she was to judge someone. She knew He loved everyone regardless of their life backgrounds or stories.

As they both got into the house, Christian still wondered what on earth he was doing allowing a total stranger into his house and life. The whole thing was still shocking to him, because he would never bring a woman to the house unless she was to become a mistress or a maidservant. Even if he just wanted to sleep with her, it would never be at his house. Ever. And she was neither of the three. So why, pray tell, was he allowing her into his house? he wondered.

As they kept going, the house servants kept greeting him as godfather on the way and he became worried that she would catch on to what the title meant and decide to leave. He did not know why but he did not want her to leave at all. So whenever he kept going in, he would give everyone the death glare to make sure they shut their mouths and stop the greetings. He turned back to look at the girl to see if she was feeling uncomfortable but she was admiring the house.

Angela thought the house looked exquisite from the outside, way too exquisite if she may. But after getting inside, it turned 180 degrees to a gloomy and depressing interior. The living room was spacious. Walking into the place you could see the hearth by the side and it was the only thing giving life to the house.

There were two long sofas facing each other and a loveseat facing a cube shaped armed chair. There was a very uniquely style marble center table that separated the chairs from each other. It looked like it was just meant for the house. The whole of the furniture was black. She would not lie about it being extremely fine, but it was not the color that was the problem, it was the feeling she got from looking at it. She felt extremely dark and empty.

There were different paintings of very famous artists around the world. She did not know about that, but only found the paintings to be beautiful. There were two staircases that led to the first floor of the house. One on the right and one on the left both connecting to the hallway. As they began to take the right stairs, Angela could not help but let out her thoughts "There's an elevator somewhere right?" She felt so because the house was not looking walkable at all.

When Christian heard this, he gave a low chuckle but instantly covered it up with a scowl "We do have an elevator. But the stairs is a good way to exercise" He said and continued walking. He began climbing the stairs faster to leave her behind while Angela glared holes to the back of his head.
