It's a pity she didn't get a seed from those Spilanthes she found yesterday. As she heard his quick steps behind, she lifted her eyes at Bugak, who understood her change of direction only when he saw how excited she was about the bush she just picked up with roots covered in wet dirt.
"I thought you were trying to run away from me... Your eyes look weird." He leaned toward her, concerned about her health.
After forcefully closing her inner sight, it took only a few moments for her eyes to adjust. However, once they did, she could see everything normally again.
"They were grayish. I like these better." He nodded all satisfied and pleased, stepping even closer to her, his hand gently found its way to her shoulder. A brief touch. Nothing more than an intimate gesture.
As she wasn't used to having anyone by her side, she only got nervous. Feeling his proximity, she grew uneasy and instinctively took a step aside.
"It's my hidden ability, I awakened it yesterday. I can see more this way, I'm able to find even roots deep under the ground." Anna smiled as she shook the flower a bit to get rid of the soil still holding onto its precious roots.
"You should train instead of wasting your time with healing others." He chuckled as he stole a glance at her nipples rising a bit under the soft blouse.
"If I did that, I would have cut your throat instead of trying to save you. You can't resolve everything with violence." Anna explained with eyes glued to his broad chest, as it was perfectly lightened by the midday sun while tucking the harvested herb into her skirt pocket. She doesn't have much room left, a blogger backpack or wattle carrier would be quite helpful.
"Maybe you should." Bugak said, seemingly unbothered, but the undertone in his voice was hard to miss.
"What? Why?" Anna breathed out, completely dumbfounded.
"If you managed to kill me, you would be able to defend yourself from everyone else. What would happen, if I was already dead before you fell from that hillside?" Bugak explained his thoughts, carefully studying her eyes.
He began to believe that there truly were two kinds of humans because some were worse than bears with rabies and the rest of them couldn't even use a knife.
"I'd either run away or die." Anna shrugged her shoulders as she followed him deeper in the forest.
"Only humans are stupid enough not to value their own lives." Bugak shook his head, unaware of the things she saw on a daily basis in her own world.
"I'd rather die, than having to share my body with them." Her slender fingers gently held his elbow and waited for him to turn to her "Thank you for sparing my life."
He watched her only for a brief moment before he turned around and took another step into the forest.
Yes, human women were pretty. But this one, this one was truly beautiful. There was something elegant behind her movements, that forced him to hold his breath every time he laid his eyes on her.
Longing this intense could be dangerous.
"It was mutual help." He murmured, thinking about the tingling he felt during the healing she put him through. It was an exciting memory, forcing him to look around to make sure she was still following him.
