As I was led over, I couldn't help giving a secret bitter laugh.

I had thought that I had hid myself well enough, but it seemed that I had underestimated them. No, it was better to say that I had become too confident with myself since I had never been caught before.

I could have watched it all from outside the barrier, but I chose to come into the barrier and get caught like this.

Though, there was a small part of me that was wondering how I made it past the barrier in the first place.

After bringing me over, I was made to stop in front of everyone with that small dagger of blood still pointed at my neck.

Gargamel looked right at me and said, "Human, how did you sneak in here?"

I looked at him and shook my head to show that I didn't know anything before saying in a scared voice, "What's going on here? Who are you people?"

Gargamel narrowed his eyes to look at me after he heard me say this.

That was what I wanted to see…

After all, I knew that the best way to keep myself safe right now was to act like I didn't know anything. I had to pretend that I didn't know Veronica at all and I was nothing more than someone caught up in this by accident.

I just had to hope that they wouldn't want too much trouble and would leave me alone, whether it was knocking me out and wiping my memory or something else.

After a long silence, Gargamel said with an evil smile, "Well, since a snack has come to us on its own, then I don't mind. I was getting quite famished from all of this."

He gave a nod to the one that was standing behind me and said, "Bring him over for me."

With this, I was pushed to move forward towards Gargamel. But before I could even take a single step.

"What did you just say?"

This was a cold voice that filled the air.

The moment that this cold voice rang out, it was as if the temperature in the surrounding area dropped. It was as if everyone had suddenly been thrown into ice the moment that they heard this voice.

Then all of a sudden, there was a burst of blood that came from Veronica who had spoken in this cold voice.

Gargamel's group and Elizabeth's group both couldn't help taking a step back when they saw this.

All of them revealed looks that had traces of fear in their eyes.

Veronica disappeared on the spot after suddenly releasing this burst of blood.

When she reappeared, she was already behind the one who held a blood dagger to my throat.

Seeing the way that she looked at him, this person immediately said, "Stop or I'll…"

He didn't even get a chance to say anything as the wave of blood came right at him.

Seeing this wave of blood, he did the only thing that he thought would save him.

He pushed me at that wave of blood and turned to run.

He wanted to use me as a shield while he ran.

I couldn't help revealing a trace of fear when I saw the approaching wave of blood, but it seemed that this fear was baseless. After all, that wave of blood wrapped around me and gently stopped me from falling.

This was only a part of the wave of blood, the other part of the wave of blood continued towards the man who had held a dagger to my throat.

He saw that he wasn't able to outrun this wave of blood and shouted, "Wait, spare me! I'll do whatever…"

The rest of his words were drowned out as he was engulfed in that wave of blood.

When that wave of blood fell to the ground, his body had completely disappeared.

It was as if he had never existed with how he disappeared without a trace.

When they saw this, both Gargamel and Elizabeth couldn't help revealing looks of fear.

It was as if they never expected Veronica to be this powerful.

But Veronica didn't even pay attention to either of them as she appeared behind me.

Her arms seemed to take the place of the wave of blood that was holding me up and she lifted me into the air in a princess carry before flying back to where she had been standing previously.

When she landed, her eyes still didn't turn to Gargamel or Elizabeth.

Her full attention was still on me as she asked, "Are you alright?"

I couldn't help being stunned when I saw her looking at me like this.

In this moment, surrounded by blood like this, I couldn't help being shocked by her beauty.

She was like a beautiful flower blooming in the night with her golden blonde hair, her fair white skin, and her cherry red lips.

It really took my breath away…

But then I quickly came back to my senses and said, "I'm alright."

Hearing this, Veronica let out a sigh of relief, but she didn't let me down.

She then revealed an angry look before saying, "What are you doing here?"

I was about to say something, but Gargamel interrupted her by saying, "Oh, it seems like you know this little rat, your highness."

Veronica's eyes turned cold as she looked at Gargamel.

When he saw her gaze turn in his direction, he couldn't help feeling a chill run down his spine. But he gathered himself and said, "Your highness, it seems like you really care about this human. But how are you planning to leave this place with him today?"

Veronica's eyes turned even colder as she spoke in a soft voice. Though her voice was soft, everyone was still able to hear every word she said clearly.

"Are you threatening him?"

Gargamel couldn't help giving a gulp when he heard this, but it was her next words that shocked him more.

"Then you shall die here and now."
