Why did she leave?

Silas sat in the back seat, his elbow resting on his thigh. His finger absentmindedly rubbed his cheek as he gazed out of the window. The thought of meeting his mate, Tabitha, left him feeling anxious.

Silas questioned himself countless times about what he would say to Tabitha when he met her. He considered several scenarios, contemplating ways to make Tabitha come to him, even if she initially hesitated and remained doubtful.

'You are my mate, and you are supposed to be mine…'

‘Yeah, no. It is as awful as it sounds,’ Silas thought as his face darkened. Among the dreadful things that had crossed his mind to say, this statement was just worse.

‘Ugh! Think, Silas!’ he thought in frustration as more ideas continued to flash through his mind.
