CHAPTER -6 They Are Twins

==============================

The Father value that he casually displayed was evidently not as substantial as when the system issued the task, but Darren still chuckled contentedly.

His smile wasn't ambiguous; it exuded comfort. Unsurprisingly, Dumbledore was influenced by his smile.

"Oh, dear child, don't you think I'll use my own money? Your parents have plenty of Golden Galleons... Well, I probably haven't told you what a Galleon is, but you can ask Snape, your future Potions professor; he's here!"

Dumbledore gestured towards the window. Upon turning, Darren indeed spotted a gloomy, bat-like figure pressing his face against the window, his nose appearing squashed. Snape was mirroring the same expression.

Darren almost burst out laughing but quickly restrained himself, realizing his unseemly behavior. Acting embarrassed, he ran his hand through his hair, suppressing the smile at the corner of his mouth. Finally, he stepped out eagerly.

"Professor Snape, is Kenrith better?"

[Ding,Father+50]

Darren accepted the Father's value and looked at Snape, his expression filled with concern. Upon Dumbledore's mention that Lily and James had left Kim Darren.

Darren recalled Kenley's injury. Mrs. Linda might demand compensation, and if Dumbledore thought he was kind, he might use his money to compensate Kenley.

Although Kenley had just been harshly treated by Snape, all the little troublemakers he brought along were so frightened that they had scattered. Presumably, they thought a murderer was loose in the welfare home.

This fear wouldn't last long, and they would likely return soon, ready to complain to Mrs. Linda. When that happened, Mrs. Linda might halt them, demanding compensation in the name of harming the children.

Darren considered his options. Kenny's body was so large; he suspected they were not far off in age. Should he pretend to faint?

The boy's face showed hesitation and sadness, as if he had lost something crucial.

How could Kenley be so important? Didn't this kid realize that Kenley had hurt him badly? Or was he just too kind? Kind to the point of foolishness? Lily, what should I do with him? If you were here, would you praise him, or gently reprimand him and advise him to take care of himself first?

Snape looked at Darren in silence for a long time before saying in a somewhat hoarse tone, "With you... The brain thinks that if he has something now, then I can't still stand here!"

Wizards who harm Muggles will also be sent to Azkaban! Although he used some methods to disguise the past, the fools at the Ministry of Magic genuinely believed Kenley was a twenty-something man with giant blood planning to attack a psychopath.

"In about ten minutes, he should show up!"

Huh? Darren's eyes lit up. According to Snape's tone, Kenley should already be fine.

What hadn't Snape done? It seemed like he deserved to be the most famous double-faced spy in the wizarding world; handling this situation was truly a skill!

Darren wondered how Snape had absolved himself of guilt. Shouldn't he be detained for a while at the Ministry of Magic? From Dumbledore's arrival to this point, Snape had likely been gone for over an hour. When did the Ministry of Magic become so efficient?

Darren was curious, but as a child who "doesn't know anything," he couldn't ask about such things. He only needed to know one thing: Kenley was fine and would appear soon. No need to lose money.

Wizarding efficiency was truly remarkable. Considering the severity of Snape's recent outburst, setting aside the reactions of ordinary people who might be afraid to death while waiting for an ambulance, St Mungo's successful treatment within an hour truly showcased the proficiency of wizards.

"That's good, that's good!" Darren sighed. He had brushed up on many good things from Kenley, and without Kenley, he couldn't trigger the temporary task now.

When would the system send temporary tasks?

[Ding, sensing the host′s thoughts ,the system will release three temporary tasks everyday ,and the others need to be in itiated by the host itself]

All right. So, that's how it is. He had wondered why the system wasn't releasing more, and it turned out that only three temporary tasks were issued each day. Clearly, he could expect more temporary missions.

I wonder what rewards I can get tomorrow.

...

The boy's eyes lit up the moment he heard the news, seeming genuinely happy. He lacked any shadow of haze and was merely pleased for Kenley's safety.

Snape's fingers clenched, and a trace of nostalgia appeared in his eyes.

Lily!

It was unmistakably Lily's child. Red hair, green eyes, fair skin, handsome countenance, and a personality reminiscent of Lily made it unbearable for him to even project his hatred onto James Potter.

Lily had two children, Darren Potter and Harry Potter. Both made him begin to soften his heart; if both stood in front of him—same red hair, same green eyes, same bravery, same kindness—he felt that he might, involuntarily, reveal his softness towards his two children.

Dumbledore had said that Voldemort would make a comeback, that he had to be a double agent, that he couldn't be kind to these two children.

But he couldn't find a reason to be harsh to this child. Looking at Darren.
