However, there was no other option. People were under the eaves and had to bow their heads. The original lord, like Voldemort, grew up in an orphanage, subjected to abuse by the dean and bullying from other children.
The distinction was that Voldemort had magic to resist, while the original owner was a Squib.
Nevertheless, he reacted swiftly, and Dumbledore likely hadn't considered this when handing him the wand. At present, without a wand of his own, Dumbledore only had the old wand.
"Wingardium Leviosa," Darren whispered, directing his wand towards a piece of silverware on Dumbledore's desk.
A surge of energy flowed through him and the wand, causing the silverware to float gently according to his thoughts. The power wielded by the wand made him feel godlike.
"Perfect! If it were in class, I'd surely award you twenty points!" Dumbledore applauded, genuinely pleased.
Without hesitation, Darren returned the wand to Dumbledore, who accepted it with a more genuine smile on his face. The child, as he had shown, was neither obsessed with power nor fearful of it.
However, the mystery of Darren's silence lingered. Dumbledore contemplated if Lily's experimental drugs for pregnancy might have caused this condition.
Lily, tortured by Death Eaters, had Snape resort to various potions and spells to save her, resulting in her becoming a single twin.
The additional child, now presumed to be Darren, appeared to have gained controllable silence. Dumbledore considered this a potentially positive outcome.
Dumbledore shared his thoughts with Darren, "Child, I can't draw conclusions about you, so I must trust your intuition. It seems to be a controlled silence.
Congratulations, you may have gained the controllable power that one of my best friends pursued all his life."
Dumbledore sighed, his blue eyes revealing a hint of sadness. Darren speculated that the friend in question was Dumbledore's companion, Grindelwald.
Mockingly commenting on Dumbledore's unconventional views on love, Darren chuckled "shyly" again. "I've known about it since I was a child. It never felt evil; it only made me feel warm. I believe that when I am in danger, it will definitely come out to protect me!"
His calm demeanor reassured Dumbledore, who had been concerned. Dumbledore, momentarily stunned, responded,
"Okay, boy. If that's the case, I should send you to the school hospital. I believe Madam Pomfrey and Professor Mileva are eager to attend to you."
Acknowledging the urgency, Dumbledore explained that Madam Pomfrey was the school hospital's doctor and needed to tend to Darren's wounds, especially since Mrs. Linda had informed him of Darren's near-death experience.
"Professor, there should be no big deal. Kenli didn't mean to... Well, I'll just let you go."
[Ding, Father +20].
Darren, presenting a kind and generous demeanor, observed Dumbledore's disapproving gaze and quickly changed his wording in embarrassment.
He wondered why the Father's value increase was still so little.
Was it because there was only one Dumbledore here? Dismissing the thought, Darren shook his head and smiled at Dumbledore's somewhat serious expression.
He believed that Kenley might face some retaliation from Dumbledore, and he couldn't bring himself to forgive that guy.
Escorted to the infirmary by Dumbledore, Darren was met with a warm embrace from a kind lady.
"Oh my God, this is Darren. He's so cute, but who bandaged your wounds? It's too rough... Unbelievable, Muggles can be so... Suppurated..."
The lady anxiously placed Darren on the hospital bed, gently pushing him down and muttering under her breath. The proximity to Dumbledore prompted her to lower her voice significantly.
"Bobby, this child's wound..."
"Albus, this child's wound is serious. Didn't you and Severus notice his condition? He needs rest and nutrients; he is very weak now!"
Madame Pomfrey exclaimed loudly. Dumbledore glanced apologetically at Darren; neither he nor Severus had considered the severity of Darren's wounds.
"No, only you didn't think of that!"
Snape's cold, whizzing voice interjected. He then produced several potion bottles and handed them all to Madame Pomfrey.
"You've made potions?"
Dumbledore asked in surprise, as he hadn't expected Snape to be willing to brew a potion for Darren. After all, Darren's injuries weren't considered significant in the wizarding world, and Madame Pomfrey was capable of handling them.
To his surprise, Snape had returned with potions specifically for Darren.
"A potent potion to replenish nutrients and expedite wound recovery. Severus, you even added Moonlight Grass!" Madame Pomfrey exclaimed.
Avoiding eye contact, Snape replied with a stern expression, "I just happened to have a bit left, so I decided not to waste it before adding it."
"I understand, I understand!"
Madame Pomfrey chuckled secretly, unscrewing the lid of the potion and handing it to Darren.
