chapter five

Ella's POV

I couldn't believe my eyes when the agency said I will be working for the celebrity fashionista Jeremy Charles, I was dumbfounded when I went to sign the concluding signatory contract with them and they informed me I will be working for him. I and Henrietta saw him most times on the TV during the Saturday's Fashion Show. The Saturday's Fashion Show was a program done every Saturday by 1pm where different celebrities display their various outfits most times styled by Jeremy or wore by him and his beautiful model fiancee.

Henrietta portrayed Jeremy to be gay and I always disagreed with her that not all men into the fashion industry were gay.

"Men in the fashion industry are all gay, they always wear and design feminine outfits and behave like women and Ella you keep telling me he's not gay" Henrietta said

"Stop it Henrietta. Because he designs female outfits doesn't mean he is gay!" I said

"Take a good look at that man you think he can fuck a woman properly" Henrietta pointed to Jeremy who was displayed on the TV screen.

"Stop it Henrietta! No vulgar words" I said because I always hated hearing and using the "F" word.

"Oh come off it Ella. Don't you get fucked? Stop behaving like a fucking child besides children of this generation use the "F" word literally everyday, it's now like a word of greeting" Henrietta said sharply, that was typical Henrietta always the vulgar type.

I haven't worked as a housekeeper before and since the agency said Jeremy didn't request for a full time help, the agency said I was the perfect person for the job since I also study at the Teacher's Training College.

I approached the gate, lo and behold the building was gigantic, I walked nearer to the gate and was just about to knock when it opened widely by itself.

"Oh an automatic gate wow!" I said as I walked further. The building was beautiful, it was decorated with natural embodiments and it was painted and designed with white, the building scented luxury and it was so siren and calm. I walked to the doorpost pressed the door bell twice waiting calmly for an answer.

The door opened swiftly, it was him, it was Jeremy Charles the fashion celebrity.

"Yes who are you? He asked me. Damn he was so handsome and his voice was calm and manly not deep, Henrietta was wrong about him, he wasn't dressed in a feminine outfit but he was dressed in a dark plain suit like a tuxedo.

"Who are you?" He asked again looking at me as if I was a thief, I quickly stopped looking at his physique and appearance snapping back to his question.

"Hi. Good morning I'm Ella from the agency" I said keenly

"Come in" he said paving way for me. I walked into inside the house, it was heaven on earth, beautiful lighten chandeliers and different touches of luxury all in the entrance. He locked the door came close to me giving me a staunch scrutinized look, I wondered why he looked at me that way, was it because I dressed all corporate. Yes I dressed all corporate because I thought it was the right thing to wear bashing Henrietta's idea of wearing a mini short skirt and a crop top to my first day at work.

"What did you say your name was?" He asked

"Ella" I said

"Ella. I don't have time for exchange of pleasantries right now because I'm running late for a meeting" he said checking at his wristwatch which I believed was gold luxury.

"So the agency said you will be working three times a week here. Why is that?" He asked

"I'm a student" I said still standing firmly gazing at him as he arranges his collars.

"Hmm. Well you suit my description of what I need" he said

"You are meant to clean, cook and manage the house in my absence three times in a week" he added

I was baffled, cook! I thought it was just housekeeping and cleaning, he knew I wanted to say something because I had a puzzled look on my face.

"So Ella do you have any questions?" He asked me still looking at my face

"Did you say cook? I asked

"Yes. Do you have a problem with that? He asked

"I thought it was just housekeeping duties"

"Who the hell pays you 500 thousand dollars monthly for just housekeeping" he said

There I go again, I was puzzled and overwhelmed, $500 thousand dollars monthly that's huge, I had an exclaimed look, this was huge to me, I didn't even mind the agency's hiked overcharged commission they were charged, the pay was mad.

"So Ella do you still have a problem with your supposed duties?" He asked

"Not at all" I said offering a smile

"Good" he said. He picks up his mini laptop and tablet on top of a cushion, he was ready to leave

So Ella, make do with the house while I'm gone. There's a cleaning protocol in the kitchen. It contains how I like my things arranged and handled. And also while you are around don't receive any visitor in my absence and without my permission, except my fiancee. If you need to deliver a message to me, call me through the telecom on the wall, you can find them almost everywhere in the house and in your room upstairs Do you understand?" He said

"My room?" I asked in a baffled state

"Yes. For the three days you will be working here, you stay here as the housekeeper that you are fulltime" he said

"Do you understand?" He asked

"I do" I said

"Good" he said throwing me a bundle of keys which I caught.

"And don't steal anything" he ordered

"I won't" I said as I watched him leave. I turned to look at the whole place again. I said to myself that this was my dream mansion even though I had no idea I would be staying fully in the three of days I will be working here. I smiled and walked upstairs which had more glamorous look and lavishly scented luxury. I found my way to the kitchen searching for the so called protocol book.

"Found it" I said, the book contains layouts of rooms in the house, his room, his fiancee's room my room and the visitor's rooms. I first found myself to his room, opened his closet which was filled with suits moreso like tuxedos. Wow! He didn't seem like he was into the fashion industry, guys into the fashion industry where more feminine but Jeremy Charles was different, Henrietta was wrong about his dress sense. His room was bigger than I and Henrietta's apartment, his bathroom was the same size our apartment, his shoe rack where filled with different collection of shoes, his awards where breathtaking and applauding.

I found myself to the store room picked some cleaning tools, headed back to his room. As I cleaned I thought about the first impression he gave. He wasn't bad for a boss I said to myself as I continued cleaning. I also thought about the remaining $400 thousand and how I would save up. I also thought of moving some of my stuffs into the place since I will be staying here for three days out of a week.
