Chapter 6

(Bayo)

"All my life, there's one thing I've always avoided, Trouble! I got myself into one few weeks ago. I was at a scene I wasn't supposed to be at. I could have just turned and went my way, but I heed the call of trouble. And there he is, standing right in front of me."

'Hello Bayo!' The figure uttered coldly. Bayo could easily discern the voice from that of a girl. It was deep and creepy. He stared at the figure, calculating the little distance that kept them apart. He thought if he (Santa Claws) tried to make any move, he would probably run into his room and lock it up. It was his only window of escape.

If he chose to run to the kitchen, there would be no escape route and he would definitely be butchered by the psycho. Running outside was not a good plan either. The psycho was standing close to the door while his back faced it. And it would take a perfect pace and clever moves to run past the him.

He decided to go for him dashing into his room if there was any strange move. It would also take a perfect plan to get to the room without being caught. Maybe if he hurled the lamp at him, he could still utilize the little time he had to accelerate his speed. As he was thinking about all these, he decided to raise a question.

'Who are you? And why are you here?' asked Bayo fearfully.

The psycho chuckled and let out a creepy laughter for while. Suddenly, he stopped and lifted his right hand slowly. He was holding what seemed to be an axe. 'We are about to find out.' he grinned.

Bayo was startled at the sight of the axe and moved backwards slowly.

He was frozen in fear as the psycho approached him slowly. The psycho's eyes were filled with madness twisted into a sinister grin. He thought that was the right moment to run and immediately, he hurled the lamp at him and made a desperate dash towards his room, hoping to outrun the psycho. But the psycho was quick to react and lunged towards Bayo, grabbing him by the arm. It was obvious that Bayo's attempt to flee was unsuccessful.

Bayo struggled to break free, but the psycho's grip was too strong. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest as he tried to think of another way out. The psycho held his arm tight and forcefully threw him onto the floor. He wallowed in pain and struggled to stand up but couldn't after the psycho began kicking him relentlessly. He tried to endure the pain and scanned any sharp thing he could find in the din.

He crawled his way to the door with the hope of screaming for help. But his chance to do that was crushed as the psycho grabbed him by his leg and drew him back to where he was before. Numerous kicks descended on his body, inflicting severe harm and causing him to cough up blood.

The Psycho stopped for a while and began laughing. He walked close to Bayi and bent down, pointing the axe towards him.

'What do you want from me, you bastard.?' Bayo asked furiously.

'You seem to be a tough guy uuh?, said the psycho as he stood up and walked a few metres away from Bayo. 'I actually don't need anything from you, Bayo. You just happened to, unfortunately be at the wrong place at the wrong time that day.'

Bayo felt a chill run down his spine as the psycho's words sank in. He had always known that one day, the man he narrowly escaped from at the creepy house will find him. But he had never imagined that he would be in such a life-threatening situation. He tried to sit up and asked, 'Why did you kill her? She did nothing wrong.'

The psycho having heard this, turned slowly and let out another creepy laughter. He made a sharp stop and responded, 'She happened to be like you, you know. She was so unfortunate to be at the wrong place, at the wrong time. So, I asked myself, what happens to an unlucky person on such an unlucky day? Such person joins his or her ancestors.' He stopped and continued his laughter.

'So, what are you going to do to me now?' He asked in as he breathed heavily.

'What else Bayo? Someone is unlucky today and today seems to be unlucky, isn't it? He asked with a grin.

Bayo shook in fear at his response. But suddenly, he chuckled and helped himself up. He rested against the sofa and spat out some blood. The Psycho was surprised a little and wondered what made him chuckled despite the situation he was in. Bayo then asked him a question which seemed to get him angry.

'So you're going to kill me now right? Just like like you killed other people.' He asked and stood up slowly, spitting out some blood. 'But before you do that, can I ask you a question?'

'And what could that be?' The psycho replied looking stunned.

'How is your eye? I remembered how deep the knife went through the mask. You know it's funny that a teenager got the City's most dangerous serial killer in one of the most effective part of the body.' Said Bayo trying to provoke him.

The psycho was a little provoked at what Bayo said but refused to show any overt reaction. But Bayo didn't stop, instead he provoked him more. The psycho eyes became wild and manic, while Bayo's was filled with determination. He couldn't bear what Bayo was spitting and he walked close to. He kicked him in the chest and he fell helplessly on the floor. He held his axe tightly and looked down at Bayo.

'I guess it's time to say goodbye. Say hi to Lucifer for me when you get to hell.' said the psycho as he raised his sharp axe to slash Bayo's throat. Bayo looked patiently as the axe went up and made its way towards him.
