"Calm down and take a deep breath. Tell us what happened and why you broke inside this room."

Meria asked as he helped the man sit down on the bed.

The guard looked helpful but pitiful at the same time.

That did nothing for Meena's mood as she continued to look at the guard with haunting eyes.

Meria did his best to ignore that expression, and he hoped the guard would do his best not to notice Meena's mood.

"M-My mate disappeared from the temple. At first, I thought it was a coincidence that I could not see my mate for a few days, but it has been a week. I am worried about her. W- What if something happened to her?"

The guard clutched his arm as he told Meria what had happened.

The more the guard spoke, the more his body shook.

It seemed as if the guard would break down at any moment.

Meria hated probing the guard for more details, but he needed to clarify a few things before he decided.
