Kerin's words rang in the clearing, and everyone was stunned at the chance they were being provided with.

The emperor was strong, but he was ultimately a kid who did not know how the world worked.

He had not even awakened his alpha, so what did he know? It was the task of the adults to teach him what was right and what was wrong.

"My lord, are you proposing some kind of test to select General Meria's replacement? I agree. We need to put qualified individuals in positions of power so that no one would have a problem."

The minister of the military came forward to add his wisdom to this decision.

He had been the one who had been most vocal about Meria's involvement with the military. 

As a conservative Alpha from a prestigious family of warriors, he saw it as a disgrace that one of the betas was a general alongside him. He brought this up in every meeting he could.
