Unthinkable Care

The next morning when Jillian and Dion opened their eyes, they found themselves in each other's arms, with Dion's face very close to hers.

Seeing that, Jillian reflexively pushed Dion until he fell off the bed.

BRUK!

"Ouch!!! What the hell was that?! You just pushed me down like that!" annoyed Dion who had just woken up and was now painfully hitting her back on the surface.

"What the hell are you! I told you that you can sleep in bed with me, but that doesn't mean you can just hug me like that!" retorted Jillian irritably.

"Tch, how would I know. I was just sleeping all night. You didn't realize it when it happened either, did you?"

Jillian furrowed her brow in annoyance at her husband. She checked her dress from under the blanket and found that everything was still intact.

"Huft... I'm still all dressed up."

"Do you really think I'd do anything to you? That's ridiculous, how could I!" Dion said and stood up.

"You could have taken the opportunity while I was sleeping and quietly--"

Flick!

Dion flicked Jillian's forehead, making her immediately rub her sore forehead. It made her realize what she had just said. Dion immediately walked out of the tent while Jillian was still sitting on her bed.

"Humpphh so annoying."

In the afternoon, they went hunting again, it was their last day of camping before they returned to the palace tomorrow. Dion was determined to get a big animal to bring and give to his father.

He was tired of hearing his father's ramblings, and this time there was no apparent reason for him to make excuses for not getting any animals.

"Where are the deer, why haven't I found one since yesterday?" said Dion looking around.

The blond man continued to wander around the forest, his red eyes searching every corner of the forest he passed. In the distance he saw a moose eating grass near a waterfall.

"There is a moose, if I get it, father will definitely stop talking bad about me. But... That animal is even more dangerous than a bear. If I let my guard down and don't shoot it again to immobilize it, it will attack me," Dion said.

However, he thought catching the moose would make his father proud. Dion forced himself to catch the moose. He prepared his bow and started aiming it at the animal.

As he was about to release the arrow, suddenly another arrow was already stuck in the animal's neck, making the moose startled, as well as Dion.

"What?! Who the..." Dion ran over to the moose as it ran in a direction.

The direction of the woman who shot it earlier. A silver-purple-haired woman who stared intently at the moose.

"Lian?"

When the animal ran towards her, Jillian drew her sword and immediately dodged and stabbed the moose's body until it was badly injured and finally fell helpless.

"Got one," Jillian said with satisfaction.

"Hey, that's my moose! I intend to get it!" said Dion running up to Jillian.

Jillian turned around and saw her husband running towards her. "Too bad you're late, I got it first. So he's mine, go find another animal." she retorted waving a hand at Dion, shooing him away.

"Heh, you're the one who snatched my game," he grumbled.

Jillian could only smile triumphantly as she got the moose first. She used a knife to cut off the moose's head. She held it up and showed it off to Dion.

"I got it first~" she boasted.

Dion rolled his eyes in annoyance and looked away. He suddenly saw something out of the tail of his eye, a long animal entering Jillian's dress.

"Lian that's!"

"Huh? Akh!" Instantly Jillian felt something bite into her thigh. Immediately, Dion lifted Jillian's dress and pulled the snake off of her.

He threw the snake as far away as possible. Jillian, who felt the pain in her thigh, immediately fell limp.

"That hurts..."

"Let me see..." Dion tore Jillian's dress down to her thigh. It looked like the bite had left a blue mark. "This is a poisonous snake, if you leave it alone, the poison will spread."

"So it's poisonous."

Without thinking, Dion lifted Jillian and sat her on a rock near the river.

"Hold on a minute." Dion took out a knife and opened a cut on Jillian's thigh.

"Urrgh--" Jillian bit her own finger against the pain. "Wait Dion, it's a waste to suck it out. It will be dangerous for you."

But without listening to Jillian's words, the man immediately sucked the poison on his wife's thigh and threw it away.

Jillian tried to endure the pain in her thigh as Dion removed the poison using his mouth. She could see the serious face of her husband who was focused on sucking the poison out of the snake bite.

'Dion...'

After finishing sucking out the venom, Dion went back to cleaning Jillian's scar and then tore off his own sleeve and wrapped it around Jillian's wound.

"At least this will reduce the poison. Does it still hurt?"

"Yes, a little. Thank you," Jillian said.

Dion nodded and sat on the riverbank while cleaning his mouth. Jillian watched the man's back. She remembered the incident this morning when she pushed Dion off the bed.

'Hitting the ground must hurt, especially when I pushed him so hard. I thought he was still angry with me, but he was...'

The two of them sat by the river while waiting for the pain in Jillian's thigh to subside. Dion chose to stay there because he was tired of looking for animals to hunt, plus he would also accompany Jillian who had difficulty walking.

"Hey Dion," called Jillian.

"Hmn?"

"Take the moose head and give it to your father. Tell him you caught it," the woman said.

Dion turned around and looked at Jillian in confusion. Jillian said that she didn't really like hunting, let alone killing large animals, unless they were commonly eaten. But she deliberately killed the moose to silence Ferid, the emperor, so that he would no longer speak ill of Dion.

"I don't know about you, but hearing what he said last night made me feel sick of him. I don't understand why you can put up with his behavior this long. But I want to throw that moose head at him to shut him up," the woman explained.

Dion was silent for a moment at his wife's words. He had no idea that Jillian was thinking about him to that extent. Thinking about things that Dion really didn't care about anymore.

"I see. Thank you," Dion smiled at Jillian.

A smile that Jillian had never seen before, a smile that suddenly made her heart beat faster. She looked away and nodded.

As it was getting late, Dion carried Jillian back to their horse because Jillian's leg was still swollen.

When they arrived at the campground, Dion was still carrying Jillian.

"Dion? Lian? What happened?" asked Theodore, approaching the two of them.

"Ahh... My leg was bitten by a snake, it's still swollen. So it still hurts to walk," replied Jillian.

"Bitten by a snake? Is it poisonous?"

Jillian nodded, saying that Dion had taken out all the poison. So there was only the scar left. Hearing that, Theodore was relieved.

Not long after, their father came and saw Jillian being carried by Dion.

"What kind of trouble did you get into this time?" he asked as if the two of them kept making trouble.

Annoyed by this, Jillian dropped the large bag she was holding and the contents came out. A moose head was visible from inside the bag.

"Dion got his quarry this time, so I guess there's nothing to say..." said Jillian looking at Ferid.

Ferid's red eyes glanced at the moose head and then looked at the two of them in turn.

"I'm sorry, but we're very tired. Come on dear, let's go back to our tent..." said the woman leaning her head on Dion's shoulder.

"Yes." Dion walked his father and twin brother back to their tent.

Jillian felt very satisfied seeing Ferid's silent expression. Even though she had to pretend to be romantic with Dion in front of the middle-aged man.
