Starting Something New

Jillian paid the innkeeper with 7 coins and then went to their room on the second floor of the venue after getting the key.

"How can we get such a big cut? From 15 to 7 pieces, that's a lot," Dion asked.

"Because he lied to us from the start. Newcomers who don't understand the prices of lodgings like you are easily tricked into paying twice as much as they should," Jillian explained and then entered their room.

Inside there was only one bed, a table and a chair. Even the lights were dimly lit in yellow.

"A room like this isn't worth 15 coins, so I'm sure it should be less than this."

They placed their belongings on the table and sat on the edge of the bed. It was a small bed, different from their bed in the palace. Even so, they had to get used to the small bed for the two of them.

"Are you hungry? There's some uneaten bread, you can eat it," Dion asked as he opened the cloth containing their belongings.
