Wounds From Deep Longing

"Need some help?" asked Dion who had just walked into the kitchen, seeing his wife putting food into a picnic basket.

"No, it's almost done. I made some sandwiches, fruit salad and also the biscuits I made yesterday," replied Jillian.

"Good, let's get going. I know a good place for it."

Dio carried the picnic basket and took his wife's hand to walk out of the house. Outside the house, the neighbors were busy doing their usual activities.

"Morning Dion, morning Jillian!" greeted one of them.

"Oh morning Alexander, are you going to the farm today?" asked Dion kindly.

"Yes, today the apples I planted will be harvested. I'll bring some for you guys. They are so red, they must be very sweet," replied Alexander.

"Oh don't bother doing that."

Alexander chuckled and would still bring them because Jillian often shared her homemade biscuits with the children in the village including his son. So he wanted to repay Jillian's kindness.
