What Are You?

The Outer Courtyard Alchemy Hall was located at the center of the Outer Courtyard, a place of great importance, just like the Martial Technique Pavilion. For martial practitioners, elixirs were indispensable, and thus their value was extremely high. Even the most basic Spirit Element Elixir, a first-grade elementary elixir, carried a substantial price.

Chen Feng, as the former Young Courtyard Master, had received a mere twenty elixirs per month.

Compared to regular disciples, this was already an astronomical number. Regular Outer-Courtyard disciples received only three elixirs each month.

After a while, Chen Feng arrived at the entrance of the Alchemy Hall.

The surrounding Outer Courtyard disciples had already noticed the presence of the once-famous genius from Tianhuang City. Many people gathered, with their gazes filled with ill intent.

"This scum dares to come to the Alchemy Hall to collect elixirs."

"I don't know what the Elders are thinking. They are actually being so kind to a useless person. Twenty elixirs per month, that's equivalent to half a year's worth of my allocation. If I had that many Spirit Element Elixirs, I would have entered the Inner Courtyard long ago!"

Many people expressed their dissatisfaction with how Chen Feng had been treated before.

"Hehe, but the Heaven finally has a fair judgement now. This scum has finally been stripped of his status, and now he's just an ordinary martial practitioner. As for elixirs... I heard that Chen Feiyu is waiting for him in the Alchemy Hall..."

Someone smirked, and their gaze towards Chen Feng was filled with amusement. Chen Feiyu was Chen Feitian's younger brother and was also known as the little overlord in the Outer Courtyard. With Chen Feiyu overseeing things, Chen Feng would never be able to take even a single elixir from the Alchemy Hall.

Chen Feng paid no attention to the crowd. He walked boldly, heading straight into the Alchemy Hall. Inside, it was quiet, with only a few older disciples idly manning the counter at the central location.

The Outer Courtyard of the Chen Clan had been in decline, and the situation had worsened since the deaths of the former Courtyard Master and the Grand Elder. Previously, Chen Feng had managed to maintain some influence of the Outer Courtyard, but after his meridians were damaged, the Outer Courtyard had completely lost its say, and not even a single Elder was stationed in the Alchemy Hall. Chaos reigned.

"Chen Feng?"

A few sharp-eyed disciples from the Alchemy Hall noticed Chen Feng's presence. The oldest among them hurriedly approached, a worried expression on his face. "Why are you here?"

"Senior Chen Zheng," Chen Feng greeted respectfully. This Senior Chen was one of the few disciples in the Chen Clan who genuinely cared for him. With his mediocre aptitude and already in his forties, Senior Chen had reached the later stages of Meridian Cultivation and but was nowhere near Blood Shifting, making him a suitable candidate to oversee the Outer Courtyard.

"I've come to collect the Spirit Element Elixirs accumulated over the past year," Chen Feng stated plainly.

"Ah, if only you had come a bit earlier, but you had to choose this timing," Chen Zheng said, his face showing reluctance. However, he gritted his teeth and, from behind the counter, retrieved a package. He urged Chen Feng hurriedly, "Take the elixirs and go. Junior Brother, things are different now. With so many elixirs, you must safeguard them properly. Otherwise... you should leave quickly!"

He looked worried as though he feared something.

"Thank you, Senior Brother," Chen Feng said, feeling grateful. While he was curious about Senior Chen's anxiety, he didn't dwell on it. He reached out to take the package. However, just as he did, a fair, jade-like hand suddenly pressed down on it.

"Oh, isn't this our Chen Clan's great genius? I thought geniuses don't need elixirs. What wind has blown you here, the famous Genius Chen? You're indeed a rare guest."

A playful voice sounded in his ear. Chen Feng looked up and found a young man with an extraordinary presence appearing beside him. The man was around sixteen or seventeen, elegant and graceful, dressed in a white robe. His appearance was out of the ordinary, but his eyes were gloomy, radiating a sense of sharpness and mockery.

"Chen Feiyu, what do you mean by this?" Chen Feng asked with a stern tone.

Chen Feiyu was Chen Feitian's younger brother, a person of exceptional talent. He had already reached the mid-stage of Meridian Cultivation and was known as a little overlord within the Outer Courtyard.

"What do I mean? It's just that you, Chen Feng, are already a waste. In my eyes, you don't deserve these elixirs. I put it this day. You can understand, right?" Chen Feiyu looked at Chen Feng with a smirk, his lips slightly tilted.

Genius? Hah, now he was just a scum.

"You should know that the Chen Clan doesn't raise trash. You've lost the position of Young Courtyard Master, and you don't even have Chen-Clan blood running in your veins. These resources should not be wasted on someone like you," he spoke confidently, and his tone was filled with mockery.

"That's right, what Young Master Yu says is true. A scum like Chen Feng doesn't deserve to enjoy the Chen Clan's resources."

"Indeed, Chen Feng is not only a scum but also not one of our own. We shouldn't waste so many resources on someone like him."

Many disciples who were watching chimed in, as if all their past grievances had suddenly exploded. Cold and mocking expressions covered their faces.

"Did you hear that?" Chen Feiyu sneered. "Get lost, you scum. The Alchemy Hall is not a place for you. This time, I'll let you go. If you ever dare to appear in front of me again, I'll personally break your legs!"

With disdain in his eyes, Chen Feiyu appeared triumphant. What could a genius do now? In the end, he would kneel and bow like a dog.

"And what if I refuse?" Chen Feng's expression turned cold.

"You keep saying that I'm a scum, unworthy of the Chen Clan's resources, and that I don't have Chen-Clan blood. However, have you ever considered that the previous Chen Feng was a genius who shook Tianhuang City. Moreover, the only reason thta the eight great martial institutes would acknowledged the Chen Clan was because of me, don’t you remember that?"

"And what about you? As an Outer-Courtyard disciple, possessing the clan’s bloodline, what have you done for the Chen Clan?”

“If I don’t deserve the resources, do you, do any of you, deserve them? You point fingers at me, calling me a parasite of the Chen Clan. But then, what are you people, with no notable achievements?”

His words were resounding and deafening. Chen Feng surveyed the crowd with incisive words, and instantly, everyone fell silent. Indeed, compared to Chen Feng, they were the true parasites!

“You!”

Chen Feiyu pointed at Chen Feng, his face turning livid, but he couldn't speak for a long time. The fiery hatred in his gaze burned as he wished he could tear Chen Feng to pieces!

"Also, you claim that I'm a scum. Have you ever thought about what you'll become if I defeat you?” Chen Feng's gaze was sharp, pressing Chen Feiyu directly, coldly questioning him.

"A waste like you want to defeat me? Scum! You overestimate yourself. Even if you were once remarkable, now you're thoroughly useless. Your words may be sharp, but they only satisfy your vanity. Scum! To defeat you, I might only need one move!"

Chen Feiyu was furious; how could this scum dare to provoke him?

"Fool." Chen Feng's eyes were cold. His confidence gave the impression that he wasn't a scum, but Chen Feiyu was the true scum.

"You dare to look down on me, scum? Die!" Chen Feiyu was furious. His gaze toward Chen Feng was filled with murderous intent. He couldn't tolerate being underestimated by this scum!
