Chapter 24

As the only one who was idle was him, Ed went out to see who was ringing their doorbell. He saw five people standing in front of the gate. 

"Hello, how may we address you?" Ed asked the group 

The five pair of eyes look at Ed when he opened the gate, the oldest of the group asked Ed "Hello kid, I am Samuel Oak and we were looking for the William couple" 

When Samuel introduced himself to Ed, Ed observed him as he felt the man was familiar before responding "William couple? There is two, no three William couple in here" 

Hearing Ed's question Professor Oak was confused as he remember that the one living in this house was his senior and past colleague but the woman beside her responded to Ed "Ah, my father mean is that we are looking for Sir Yun and Ma'am Talya" 

Hearing this Ed exclaim "Ah grandpa and grandma? What's your purpose?" 

"We have something to discuss to your elders, hmm, what's your name kid?" Professor Oak asked Ed as he hadn't yet ask Ed's name 

"You can call me Ed sir" Ed answered 

"Please come inside" Ed let the group in as he didn't feel any malice on them. 

When they arrived at the garden Oak and his group were confused as they saw the William family having a party. 

Grandpa Yun saw Professor Oak so he called professor Oak. He walked towards him as he warmly greeted him. 

"Samuel! Brat! Long time no see!" 

"Senior Yulian, long time no see!"

Grandpa Yun looks at professor Oak and his companion so he asked

"They are?" 

"Right, this is my son Blue and my daughter Delia. The other two were Frax and Green" 

"Greeting sir Yulian" The four greeted Grandpa Yun

"So he is Blue, one of the first users of your pokedex?" Grandpa Yun asked 

"Your right senior, with him, was Green and Frax's brother Red." Professor Oak replied and Grandpa Yun nodded. 

Curious why his friend Sam visited "So what's the purpose of your visit?" 

When professor Oak heard Grandpa Yun's question the professor sighed "Senior we need you assistance" 

When Grandpa Yun saw the helpless look of Professor Oak he was confused and curious to what problem Professor Oak was facing that made him helpless. After all, like him professor Oak was a champion rank trainer before they retired from the battling scene.

"Assistance? Well let's talk about it somewhere" 

He led Professor Oak somewhere as the present location is unsuitable for serious topics as his family was still having a celebration party for the additional member of their family.

When Grandpa Yun led Professor Oak he left behind his four companions. They looked around, and the lady who talked with Ed saw Rose who was holding her daughter towards the garden. 

"Rose?" She called out for Rose 

Hearing her name she looked towards the caller and found someone familiar "Delia?" 

Delia Oak asked her friend Rose and she also noticed two little girls, one a toddler and the other infant "Rose, why are you here? And they are?" 

"Hello Delia, as for who these little ones here, they're my daughters" Rose answered her friend and her answer shocked Delia and her companion who were also Rose's friends. 

"What!" 

"Since when?" Delia asked her friend as she was confused she didn't see her friend for 5 years now she already had two daughters. 

Hearing her friend's question "Well.. I don't know where to start"

Eight years ago in Cerulean City was the 1st year of Rose being a gym leader and she met Red, the brother in law of Delia, knowing him Rose gained a feeling for Red. Many years passed since Red's departure for his journey but Rose waited for him until three years later she received news from her little junior about Red and his circumstances and that they are now travelling together. Until she heard that the two became official. 

This broke her heart and the pokemon stampede in her city with an Elite pokemon leading added a heaviness in her heart. Then like a knight in shining armor Alan arrived and defeated the elite pokemon stopping the stampede. 

Stopping the Stampede the town had a celebration and Rose invited Alan to have drinks and that is how Daisy was born. That event led Alan to pursue her until he won her heart, add that was because of Daisy. She and Alan had a small marriage but for the Elders it was not an official one. 

Rose summarized her meeting with Alan and how she became part of the William family. 

"Congratulations Rose" Delia and Green, the other lady companion, congratulated Rose.

"Thank you Delia, Thank you Green" 

"Congratulations Rose, May you and your family be blessed" The man beside who was always sticking to Delia bless

"Thank you Frax" 

The boy beside Green also congratulated her "Congratulations sister Rose, I think Alan is a better man for you than that brat who only think about pokemon battle" 

"Even though the brat your talking about is my brother but I agree with your words" Frax quipped 

"Hahahaha" The group laughed when they heard 

"Hahaha, Thank you Blue" Rose giggled on Blue's joke

"So what are the festivities here?" Frax asked as he looked around as the family was having a party as many food and drinks were in place. 

"Ah this is a welcome party for me, Daisy, and Violet. Right, you guys join us for lunch" Rose invited her friends 

"Really? I'm famished. Can I ask for a pizza?" Franz asked Rose

"Pizza? I think there were some" Rose answered as she led her friends and introduced them to Alan and his family

On the other hand Grandpa Yun was discussing with professor Oak. 

"So shoot, what is your purpose Sam?" Grandpa Yun asked when they arrived 

Professor Oak smiled as he said 

"Senior the truth is, it is about the camp" 

Grandpa Yun was confused as he was already told by the alliance about the camp the professor association proposed. So he signalled Professor Oak to continue. 

"The implementation of the plan is already to its completion but nobles want us not to accept kids that didn't have a background" 

Hearing this grandpa Yun was more confused as he knew the families in Kanto already lost their power as more trainers from a common background rose up in ranks and strength. So these families couldn't stop the Kanto league from doing what they wanted to do, especially the professor association. 

"Why? I'm confused as to why you guys need us." 

Professor Oak sighed "Senior it was ok if those families were the ones obstructing us but the one who was objecting to this program was those elite trainers who came from the bottom if you would say. They approve for any kids except for those orphans and children of unofficial trainers." 

"What!? Is there something wrong in their mind? Aren't they glad those kids would follow in their footsteps of becoming trainers as they had the same background when they were young?" Grandpa Yun felt that his brain is not functioning so couldn't help but ask

"How about those families then?" 

"Those families accepted the program as they wanted their new generation to be honed and when they heard that you and ma'am Talya would help the children they didn't care who their kids would learn with." 

At first some of the families didn't want their children to join but when they learned that two Grandmaster rank trainers would oversee and train their children they immediately jumped in to participate as they hoped that their children would become great trainers someday with the teachings of the two grandmaster rank trainers and master trainers. 

They even started teaching their children to remove their contempt as they need to embrace that it was already a new era and that their future should thrive and slowly forget about their arrogance. 

The actions of the families pleased the elders of the association. But some of the trainers who become an official trainer were unsatisfied, some think that it was unfair as to how hard they work to achieve but this new generation trainers would have it easy. 

Ed, who was passing by, heard Professor Oak and Grandpa Yun's conversation. 

'Are they Asian parents?' Ed thought as he remembered that most parents always exaggerate things and didn't want their children to do tasks with ease. 

'But they're really idiots' Ed sighed

"What do they want to do then?" Grandpa Yun asked

Hearing Grandpa Yun's question Professor Oak scratched his head as he answered.

"They wanted to be taught by the grandmaster rank trainers" 

"What?" Grandpa Yun was shocked to the proposal 

"They want to learn from the Grandmaster rank trainers instead of the kids? Ridiculous, most of them were already high ranking trainers. Why steal children's opportunity?" 

"You know senior" Professor Oak inhaled as he added "You know that most trainers were searching for strength that they wanted more until they're satisfied." 

"You're right, Ed, stop eavesdropping!" Grandpa nodded and he called out Ed. 

"Hehehe, What is it grandpa?" 

"You should stop eavesdropping or else your grandma would scold you" 

"You're right grandpa, right grandpa I have a suggestion." 

"Suggestion?" 

"Why not invite some trainers to be a mentor or be part of the training program. With this some could get what they want but could also help the program" 

When Professor Oak heard this he was enlightened as he and the alliance was thinking of only using a small number of trainers and didn't think of involving most trainers. 

"We could go with that idea, now for the next problem" 

"Next problem?" Grandpa Yun asked then he saw that Ed was still their "What are you doing go back there as it was almost lunch" 

Ed scratched his Ed as he went back to the garden. Grandpa Yun watched Ed leave as he asked Professor Oak again.

"So what's the next problem Sam?" 

"The location of the program" 

"Location for the program? I thought they will held it here in Hoenn" 

"The professor Association want held it in Alola sir" 

"Alola? Why change to Alola which is far away?" 

Grandpa Yun asked as he was curious about the change of location. 

"The one who proposed this was the professor association senior." 

"Your group?" Grandpa Yun's interest was aroused as Alola was one of the smallest main regions and also had fewer cities. 

"Yes, we were planning to build an academy in Alola and helping the training camp for those children would help us entice childrens and increase the reputation of the academy." Professor Oak eagerly explained the plan of his group

"You would be leading this academy?" Grandpa Yun asked 

"No senior, it would be my cousin Samson who would be overseeing the academy. This could also serve as an advertisement for the region." 

"You guys really wanted to turn the region into one of the core regions huh?" Due to Alola having a low population the other region complained. 

The requirements for a region to be a core region is having a settled population and having pokemon that were special to the region which Alola satisfied these requirements.

After eating lunch Cynthia took Ed and his pokemon for training. She led them to the battle field near the garden. The adults were intrigued to see the battle of the two kids/. 

This time Cynthia was using her Gible who was always following her since morning while Ed went to use Azurill. Ralia acts as the referee for the kids' battle. 

Delia and the others were curious for about Cynthia and Ed so Rose explained to them "The two kids were Cynthia and Ed, don't look down on the two of them as they have a great potential to be a trainer. I saw the two of them fought and they were battling like they're experienced fighters." 

"Azu, do your best! You too brother Ed" Daisy cheered for Azu. Ed who heard this made a smug face on Cynthia. 

Cynthia look at the ifiotic face of her cousin and want to punch it "Idiot she's cheering for Azu" 

As Rose was narrating about Cynthia and Ed, Ralia called the beginning of the match "Battle Begin!" 

"Azurill Water gun!" Azurill spit out a small torrent of water toward Gible

"Gible block it with Dragon rage" Gible blast out a green ball of energy blocking the water gun

"Gible follow it up with Sand Attack!" Cynthia instructed Gible as Gible use her two little arms to throw sand towards Azurill, Cynthia opposed on using dragon type attack directly on Azurill as she could sense that Ed was planning on using her attack against her

"Azurill water sports" Azurill sprayed water to the field which also stopped Gible's sand attack but Cynthia smiled as she order Gible to use a next move

"Mud shot" using the mud around Gible cast them toward Azurill this shocked Ed, making unprepared as Cynthia used the mud in the ground instead of telling Gible to condense a ground type of energy which he couldn't instruct Azurill in time. 

"Azu are you okay?" Ed asked Azurill which Azurill responded by bouncing. Ed brows frowned as he didn't expect that he couldn't win even with type and level advantage. 

" Okay then, Azu bounce attack!" With Ed's instruction Azurill bounce high as he followed up with an order "Bubble beam" 

"Gible block it mud shot" Cynthia instructs Gible as Gible uses the mud shot to block the attack but when descending Azurill hits Gible knocking the Land shark pokemon to stagger. 

When Azurill landed on the ground, bright light surrounded her and after a few minutes Azurill became bigger than the ball in her tails. 

When Azurill shone, Daisy was nervous about what would happen to her friend and she would surely hate her cousin for making Azu battle. But when she saw Azu change she was amazed.

Status: Helping hand. Water sports, Protect, Charm, Defense Curl

Attack: Tackle, Bounce, Rollout, Aqua jet

SpAttack: Water gun, Bubble beam

Looking at Azu who now became a Marill and having a new attacks Ed smiled as he want to use their new strength immediately. 

"Azu now let show sis your new strength water gun"

Marill blast a stronger water gun than when she was an Azurill and this attack hitted Gible. Gible was 

"Gible Sand Tomb!" Gible condense a strong amount of ground type energy and controlled them towards Marill blocking the pokemons movement

"Defense Curl" Ed ordered Marill to raise her defense as she curled her body.

"Gible now bite attack!" Gible jump towards Marill and this made Daisy looking at the battle eclaim. 

"Azu Roll out!" Marill, who was already curled, spun swiftly and hitted Gible and this continued for three more hits before Gible lost her combat ability. 

Ralia look at Gible for few seconds before announcing "Gible is unable to battle, Ed won the match" 

Ed was about to hug Azu to celebrate but Daisy immediately hugged Azu. 

"Azu you're so great!" Daisy congratulated her friend. 

"I heard from dad that Gible was a starter pokemon of big sister Cynthia, so I would be choosing Azu as my starter pokemon." 

Ed who saw this was stunned and frozen in place. He want to tell Daisy that Azu was his pokemon but was stopped by Cynthia's glare. 

'Come on' Ed groaned
