Chapter 27- Diantha

Before Ed and Cynthia returned Home. Sonia was introducing Diantha to Grandpa Jin. 

"Her name was Diantha and we are now her adoptive parents"

"Diantha? You mean the girl Ed was talking about?" Grandpa Jin asked as he remembered how his brother was telling him stories of Ed gaining friends and that one of his friends was named Diantha. 

"Diantha, this is my uncle, call him grandpa Jin." Sonia introduced Grandpa Jin. 

"Hello grandpa" Diantha bowed as she greeted Grandpa Jin. 

"Hello Diantha" Grandpa Jin greeted Diantha but they heard someone calling for grandpa Jin. 

"Jin, is there a problem?" Grandpa Yun showed up but froze for a moment seeing Diantha. 

"Is she Ed's twin sister?" like grandpa Jin, Grandpa Yun asked the couple. 

"Hahahaha" Granda Jin laughed when he heard his brother's question and want to answer his brother but Grandpa Jin immediately reacted by running out as he shouted. 

"Talya! Come here! Sonia found their other child!" 

Grandpa Jin was dumbfounded by his brother's action. 

"What the" Jin was confused as to why his brother reacted that way. 

He was not the only one who was confused as Sonia and Argus, Yun's daughter and son-in-law, were also confused by Grandpa Yun's reaction. Diantha who was with them was confused and remembered how others always say that she was Ed's twin. 

Moments later Grandpa Yun returned with Grandma Talya.

"Talya look, look Ed really has a twin. Just like what you see in your dreams" Grandpa Yun excitedly pointed at Diantha

When Grandma Talya saw Diantha she almost thought that the little girl was really Ed's twin but she remembered that Sonia only give birth to Ed. 

"What are you talking about you old brat! Also you're scaring the kid" Grandma Talya slapped Grandpa Yun's head. "You know Sonia only gave birth to Ed."

"Ah, you're right, hehehe" Grandpa Yun scratched his head embarrassingly. 

"What is father talking about mom?" Sonia asked as she was curious when her father talked about her mom seeing scenes and dreams. 

"It was just a dream" Grandma Talya answered

"What dream is it?" 

"It's about you having a second child, Sonia" Grandma Talya explained and narrated what she saw in her dreams. While she was explaining she felt an additional small life force on her daughter. 

"Second child?" Sonia asked

"Ye-yes" Grandma Talya answered as she look at her daughter

"Well, I'm pregnant mom" Sonia said which made the downcasted grandpa Yun return to his excited state. 

"Since when?" 

"I don't know mom as the signs of my pregnancy are when we returned to Kalos." 

"Congratulations" Grandpa Jin congratulated as he looked at grandpa Yun and look at his brother's excited face.

After being scolded by the two grandmas, Ed learned that his parents returned to Hoenn from Kalos. He was just confused as to why his grandma was stricter. 

'Why grandma Talya was so strict today? But I could feel joy in her aura and worry of course. But that damn cousin of mine is giving me trouble. Also she's the one who has the problem here, not me!' 

Ed thought as he was preparing to leave to look for his parents before he left he looked at his cousin Cynthia and the other party smirked at him which annoyed Ed a little. With Ralts, Ed could only leave fuming as went to search for his parents. 

Led by grandma Talya Ed saw his parents in the garden entertaining Daisy with an additional child beside them. What got his attention was the girl beside them. 

He knew the girl as she was one of the people in his predecessor's memory. Someone close to him as she was his playmate and friend. 

'She's so cute!' Ed thought when he first saw her in his memories and felt she was familiar.

"Mom Dad, welcome back!" Ed called his parents and went close to them. 

Argus sensed Ed's presence and immediately greeted his son. 

"Ed, come on, are you forgetting your real home now?" Argus sighed and joked but he got a glare from Grandma Talya. 

"Hello Diantha, long time no see" Ed greeted Diantha. He heard Grandpa Jin talking with Cynthia about Diantha was like his twin. 

As he looked at her, at a closer look he could see that she closely resembled him and his parents and unconsciously asked. 

"I've been with Diantha for many years but is she my lost twin sister?" 

When everyone heard it, everyone present laughed except for the three children Daisy, Ed, and Diantha. 

"No Ed, she's not your twin sister but you could say she's your sister now as your father and I decided to adopt Daintha" Sonia explained to her son. 

"Adopt?" Ed asked as he was also shocked. 

'Why do I feel this genre was cliche' 

"Yes" Sonia answered Ed's question.

He looked at Diantha again and saw that she was caressing a pokemon egg and it was not one of the pokemon egg they had.

He was shocked because the pokemon's aptitude was high, having the same level as his Ralts and Cynthia's Gible. 

When Diantha saw that Ed was looking at the egg she introduced the egg to Ed. 

"This is the egg my father gave to me as a gift" When she said that, Ed could see the loneliness and grief on his friend's face. 

Familiar with the scenario of someone losing their loved ones. Afterall in his past life he also was in the same scenario when his grandfather and his pets died. 

Ed could only hug Diantha and cheer her up, of course he has a weapon for cheering his friend and it was Ralts and his other pokemons. 

After consoling Diantha he led her to tour the house and they met Cynthia. 

Ed introduced Diantha to Cynthia and the two immediately hit it off as they chat on topics Ed couldn't understand which were more about romance movies. Aside for the two the only one who eagerly listen was Daisy.

Night

In his bedroom there were an additional four people in the room, it was his parents and Diantha. Luckily the bed was big enough to fit the four of them. Argus and Sonia talk about their journey sharing what they had experienced and they also talk about Diantha's parents until Ed feel drowsy as he closes his eyes listening to his parents' stories. 

'I suddenly missed my phone, skimming to social media or watching videos' Ed sighed in his mind as he yawn 'But it was my first time being tuck to sleep by someone' it was his last thought before he finally fell asleep. 

Moments later Ed could hear a crowd of people cheering so he frowned as he slowly opened his eyes. But he was shocked to see that he was in a battlefield. 

In front of him was a Roserade panting as he look beyond the back of Roserade, facing Roserade was a Gardevior and behind her was a lady with a winged clothes. Ed was familiar with her as he saw her in animations and games. 

'Daintha' 

"Challenger Diantha losing five of her pokemon was in a pinch as she calls out her last pokemon, her ace Gardevior!" Ed could hear a host narrating the fight but what shocked him was the one fighting with Diantha was him. 

*The battle between the twin royals was now at its peak, so who will do the first move? Oh it was Gardevior as she blast up a shadow ball! Oh! It was blocked by a blizzard of petals canceling the shadow ball but wait what's this? Roserade was floating in the air! Wait it was Gardevior using psychic, is this the end for Roserade folks? *

The floating Roserade was smacked towards the ground as smoke rise up from Roserade's fall. After it settled the referee look at Roserade and announce that the pokemon is unable to battle. 

Ed see that 'he' call back Roserade from its pokeball and call out another pokemon by throwing a pokeball. It as a Gallade

*Trainer Sarhed has called out Gallade! Now the two trainers are down to their last pokemon. We are now seeing the battle of the two strongest Kalos trainer in this generation! Stay with me folks as we watch who will be the one who will be the one crown as the Kalos champion!'

The Ed look at Diantha and the two of them took out each of their necklaces and touched the stones into their necklace as the two stone shone. Gallade and Gardevior also shone as they also had necklaces on them and they changed form as the light settled.

*IT'S HERE! Mega Gardevior VS Mega Gallade*

Hearing the emcee Ed could feel his blood boiled and he was excited not caring if this was a dream as he wanted to be one of those characters fighting with their pokemon. But his dream was cut short as his sight turned black for a moment before he opened his eyes only to stare at the ceiling. 

'Heavens why?' Ed thought as he couldn't help but want to cuss as he was into the climax part of his dream but he woke up in that moment. 

Ed sighed and contemplate on why he dreamed about that.

'What a weird but cool dream. But Isn't having an adopted sister turning my dream into something related sisters or family, yeah both normal or that perverse culture one' 

'Don't ask me system or those with you and don't ask me if I have that conclusion but my adopted sister is a beauty so shut up' 

Ed rose up as he look around only to see that it only him and his three pokemon Trapinch, Silcoon and Spinarak. 

"Right talking about dreams" Ed remembered something so he went to find his parents. 

"Are you talking about the two pokemon who were with Jirachi?" Argus asked his son as he was stroking the head of a Swampert and perched on his shoulder was a Talonflame.

Ed was surprised that the Talonflame that was always warming Ed, when the present Ed was still not transmigrated, was a pokemon in the peak champion rank but it was only normal as Talonflame was the starter pokemon of Argus. While his other pokemon such as Charizard and Greninja were just newly caught or hatched from an egg. 

When Argus heard Ed's narration, Argus sighed and showed the two pokeball in front of Ed. 

"Are you talking about these two pokemon? But the two pokemon won't come out no matter what" 

Argus gave the two pokeball containing the two ultra beasts in Ed's hand hoping that the two pokemon would react towards Ed as they had a certain connection with Ed. But a few minutes passed by and the two pokemon still didn't react. Argus was disappointed as he wanted to know more about the two pokemon and Ed was more disappointed as he thought he could have an Ultra Beast as a pokemon. Who doesn't want strength? 

Ed disillusioned, sighed as he thought being someone with a system and reincarnated would have a strong line up of pokemon being a protagonist of the era. But he immediately disposed of the idea of being a protagonist as he remembered that most protagonists would always have trouble knocking on their door if they don't create one. 

Choosing between having a normal and peaceful life and a life of a protagonist, he would choose the first choice. With the life he has now, why would he choose something troublesome. He plan on gaining more strength and leveling his pokemon to the same level as his elders' pokemon. 

But Ed didn't know his plan of peaceful life was destroyed immediately when he heard Cynthia calling for him. 

'I got a bad feeling about this' Ed thought as he saw Cynthia leading Diantha and the one year old Daisy who was being babysitted by Gastrodon.

At first Daisy was afraid of Gastrodon after its battle with Blue's Charizard as the pokemon showed a scary side of her in front of its owner's little daughter. But she softened when she saw the picture of Alan when he was young and hit starter Shellos. She was clamoring about wanting to have a pokemon like her father and Alan told her about evolution and that Gastrodon was a Shellos before. 

You really won't know what's in a child's mind as when she learned about Gastrodon's past form she slowly got close to the pokemon aside from asking if Gastrodon could return into a Shellos from time to time.

"Ed, Let's show Diantha how we train!" 

"Train?What are you talking about sis?"Ed was confused as he remember that only one training here was Cynthia. 

"I'm talking about pokemon battle" 

"Aaah Ha?" Ed nodded at first but stopped when he understood what Cynthia meant. 

"That's great Cynthia, go now Ed train with your cousin." Argus said and made Ed's face ಠ⁠,⁠_⁠｣⁠ಠ

"Let's go and train!" Without waiting for Ed's response Cynthia immediately pulled Ed as they left to train.
