CHAPTER 34: Water ring

[Next day] 29 of May.

"Mila? What are you doing here?" Leo asked surprised seeing Mila standing outside his room like a loyal bodyguard. Already in her military uniform.

"You said am your bodyguard, so I am going to stand by your side from now on" Mila said with her head down.

'What's wrong with her today?'

"Ok let go, we have a long journey ahead" Leo said walking downstairs.

"Huh..., Leo" Mila called slowly fiddling with her fingers.

"Yes?" Leo turned around looking at her.

"I just want to say thank you." Mila said raising her head to look at him.

"Thank you...? For what?" Leo asked a little confused. "For curing my grandfather, I will be indebted to you." Mila said.

'Oh that..., if I tell her I did it entirely for my benefit, what will she think of me.'

"Oh that's just a little favor, it's nothing big." Leo said with a smile. "No, I promise I will repay this debt." Mila said with a determined tone.

"Sighed"

Leo sighed and said. "Ok if you want to pay me back, you should always believe in me. NO matter what I say, can you do that?"

Mila looked at Leo for a while and nodded, seeing her nod Leo Smile and said. "Come on let go downstairs." Mila nodded with a smile. Now she was not that cold to Leo but instead was filled with fighting spirit to win against him in the coming future.

"Good morning Mr Leo, I hope you slept well?" Steven asked looking at Leo who was coming downstairs. "Morning Mr Steven, your bed is too comfy that I slept like a baby" Leo greeted back and said with a smile.

"Good, come let eat breakfast."

Leo turned to Mila "have you eaten breakfast?" Mila was a little surprised that he asked her if she had eaten, but she till nodded "Yes have eaten" she said.

Leo nodded and said "Sorry Mr Steven, we have a long journey ahead we will eat on the way." Leo declined the breakfast politely. "It's ok Mr Leo, save journey and take care of my granddaughter."

"I will. Thanks again we will be going now" Leo said with a smile and after that. They both left the mansion.

"Sunny follow them, keep eye on my daughter. Stay in the shadows don't come out if you are not needed." Steven said looking at Leo and Mila departing figures.

"Yes." Sunny nodded and left the mansion from the other exit.

Outside the mansion a small smile appeared on Leo lip.

Mila was lost in thought her mind wandering away. Gotten to the car Leo finally asked. "Mila what's troubling you?" Mila looked at Leo and said slowly. "It's about my grandfather, you see he never let me leave the base on my own, at most two or five guards will go with me, but now am a little surprised. Not that I am sad or anything, it's just weird."

'What happened to my grandfather?'

"Don't worry, he knows you are safe with me" Leo said with a smile.

'Oh..., Mila, Mila, Mila..., your grandfather is really overprotective, his sending his right-hand man to protect you in the shadows. He forgot one thing. I am the shadow.'

'You..., you will see.' Leo said and disconnected the link, looking at Mila he said "Don't worry, our journey will take us at most two days, so let leave now."

"Two days?" Mila asked a little stunned. Leo entered the car and nodded. "Get in" Mila snap out of her daze and entered the car. Leo smiled and drove the car out of the barrack, at the same time a Black Audi drove out following Leo car with a measurable distance. Leo smiled looking at the Black Audi from the side view mirror. He took out his phone to call maxim.

He would have to reschedule the time to release the news about doomsday to the world with maxim. 'How would I have known that the system will pinpoint a spiritual energy.'

About a minute everything was set on the 7th of June, he planned to give the world one month to decide either to believe him or not.

There journey went smoothly.

2 days later.

[1st of June, 39 days before doomsday]

Gotten out of the car Mila was speechless looking around the vast valley with different shapes of mountains and hills, in the far north of the valley flowed a clear and beautiful water fall. She looked at the waterfall for a long time as if drawn to it.

"What's wrong?"

Leo words brought her out of her daze, she turned to him and asked. "What are we doing here?" Leo Smile and walked towards a weird looking mountain, what caught Mila eyes was that these mountain have a height equal to a skyscraper, but the most weird thing is that he have 5 peak, while other mountains around have 1. Gotten to the foot of the mountain Leo answered her question. "Our mission is inside this mountain."

"What do you mean inside?" Mila was totally confused looking at Leo blankly.

"You will know." Leo placed his palm on the rough surface of the mountain. 'Potentate open the door.'

'After doomsday all the tombs and dungeon will be unlocked automatically. Releasing countless nightmares to the world. I just hope nothing dangerous is inside.'

[2,000 Doom stones]

'I have only 7,000 DS left, ok take it and open this door.'

Leo felt a comfortable breath from deep within him flowing through his body and settled on his palm then spread inside the rock. A Red skull appeared on the rough surface, the next moment it disappeared. Only Leo or any other enhancers can see this skull, normal humans won't be able to see it, that why Mila didn't ask about it became she didn't see it.

After 10 seconds the two heard a sound of mechanism being unlocked, the next second the mountain wall move reviewing a dark passage. Leo nodded and walked inside followed closely by Mila, after the two entered the passage closed. Mila turned around hearing the sound of the passage being closed. She looked around the area but couldn't see anything, everywhere was shrouded in darkness.

Leo walked to the right and push a lever. All the ancient looking touch lit up instantly, pushing the darkness away. Leo really didn't need the light because being a dark enhancer made him one with the Darkness, he just did it for Mila. Mila, seeing the touches lighting up was a little stunned and looked at Leo.

Leo looked at her and asked seriously. "Will you be my subordinate?"

"Well am already your bodyguard, so why are You asking. Yes I will be your subordinate." Mila said looking around the ancient wall.

"What?, Ahh!!" Mila was about to say something only to felt an unbearable pain in the next moment, after a minute the pain disappeared. She glared at Leo. "Calm down there feisty, now listen. You will feel a surging amount of power flowing in you, try to release it." Leo said.

"What…?, Mila was a little surprised but true to his word she felt the power in her and these powers..." She looked up to Leo closed her eyes, channeling all the power in her body.

After about five attempt, she succeeded. Instantly a wave of water burst out from the ground spreading all over the place. Leo looked at the water covering his boot and say, "now try to control these waters around us." Mila nodded closed her eyes again to concentrate. The next moment all the water moved towards her forming a ring made of water, spinning around her. Mila stood at the center of the ring looking at the waters around with an unreadable expression. Changing from surprise to shock then Awesome.

She raised her hand and touched the water around her and said with a surprise tone.

"It's cold." She looked at Leo and asked "how am I doing these?" Leo smiled and said "You will know when we get back to the city, but now we have a mission to complete."

Mila looked at Leo and an idea appeared in her head, "I can now defeat you now Leo"

"Hahaha..., sorry, am sorry. Firstly you don't have any advantage toward me, but I do, And I am 3 realm above you, you can never win me" Leo burst out laughing hearing Mila and said.

"Then let find out." Mila said raised, and hand 10 water balls rose from the water ring and shot toward Leo. Leo didn't move or dodged but just stood there, the water balls collide with Leo invisible barrier and evaporate instantly.

"What?" Mila was speechless, she closed her eyes and unleashed all her spiritual energy causing the water ring to expand spreading everywhere. Any rocks it passed was cut in half, Leo shook his head and say. "First your skill is till in the amateur stage, and I am stronger than you." With that the emperor sword appeared in his hand, with a slash filled with spiritual energy the water ring broke in two halves and collided with Mila. Mila clutch her chest, her face turned pale staring at Leo with horror.

"I just infused 20% of my spiritual energy in that slash, And look it you. What if I had used my full force. It will not just be your water ring that would be cut in two halves." Leo said looking at the passage, he felt a powerful presence at the end of this passage. Thanks to his skill "shadow Radar"

"Come on let go" Leo said following the touches on the wall walking towards the end. Mila took a deep breath and followed behind him.
