Massacre

An hour later,

The helicopters land at Machulishchy military airport near Minsk.

When he was still in the helicopter, he saw a Tupolev Tu-144 supersonic transport plane stationed at the airport.

He immediately realizes there is someone from Moscow arrived.

Gashkov steps down from the MI-8.

Three men were standing outside the terminal waiting for him.

One of them stands on the right, is the commander of the Byelorussian military district, Mikhail Zaitsev.

The one on the left is the Chief of Staff of the Moscow Military District, Vladimir Leonidovich Govorov.

His father was one of the well-known Soviet marshals during World War 2 who called Leonid Govorov.

And surprisingly, in the middle one, is Marshal Orgarkov.

Gashkov quickly walks to them and salutes to Orgarkov.

"Comrade Marshal, great to see you here."

"Great to see you too, general Gashkov, I hope you have brought some good news from the front."

The four of them talked while walking,

"Yes Marshal, I do have some good news. Our troops have successfully blocked the orcs offensive and even started to fight back."

"Nice hearing this news. I also have some good news for you from Moscow."

Orgarkov then looked at three of them and said,

"The High Command has decided to form the Baltic Front, and I, will the Commander of it."

He then continues to say,

"You, Colonel General Ivan Gashnov, will be the deputy Commander."

"And Colonel General Vladimir Govorov will be the Chief of Staff of it, I hope you can perform as well as your father."

After listening to what Orgarkov said, Govorov stood at attention on the spot and spoke confidently,

"Comrade Marshal, I promise to you I will prove to you in the future of the war."

"Good, hope you will remember what you said today."

Gashnov is also very excited about the news, but he is also curious about the Baltic District.

"Marshal, how about the original Baltic district?"

"Unfortunately General Gashnov, the original Baltic Commander and Chief of Staff will be removed from office."

"I know is hard to believe but now is a critical moment, 90% of Estonia's, almost all of Latvia, and 70% of Lithuania's territory has been lost."

"This time we need someone to take the responsibility."

"Even under their command, they have successfully blocked the orcs in Tartu, the High Command still decided to give them some punishment."

"But, do not worry, the punishment is temporary, a few months later they will gain back a similar position."

Orgarkov then looks to Zaitsev,

"General Zaitsev, good news for you also."

"The High Command also decided to form the Belarus Front, you and your deputy staff will also be the Commander of it."

"New Chief of Staff of the front will be appointed by the High Command in the future."

Then, Zaitsev reacts similarly to how Gashnow reacted just now.

"Besides, the Ukraine Front will also be formed, and Carpathian, Odesa, and Kyiv military districts will be merged."

"However, Zaitsev, you will also need to know, from the information we have gathered now, that both Belarus and Ukraine may not be the main battlefield in the future."

"So, both of the fronts will not get many troops and equipment like how it happened in World War 2."

Few of them were talking, until now they had walked outside the airbase.

"Alright comrade, we will meet in the headquarters inside the city later, I also hope I can hear more detailed intel about the front."

Orgarkov then got into a GAZ-14 Chaika that was prepared and taken by the driver to the city.

Leaving the other three on the spot.

Zaitsev first said,

"Congratulations to both of you! It's a fantastic opportunity to learn from Marshal Orgarkov."

"I hope you both can achieve even more in the future."

He then salutes and shakes hands with both of them.

"You too, comrade. I believe we can still work together in the future."

"Even though I haven't worked with you, I also hope we will have the chance to collaborate in the future."

Three of them blessed each other for a while then got in the car and drove towards the city.

Ten minutes later,

Ghasnov and Govorov meet with Orgarkov in a meeting room in the headquarters again, and Zaitsev goes to the other room to prepare for the newly built Belarus front.

Orgarkov stands in front of a map and asks.

"Ghasnov, you said that our troops have begun to counteroffensive, may I know how is their progress now?"

Ghasnov walks to the map, uses his fingers to point to a few places nearby Vilnius, and explains to Orgarkov.

"Reporting to Marshal, before I leave Vilnius, the 5th Tank Army has already launched their counteroffensive outside the city from Paberžė and Medžiukai."

"They will split their troop into two, one to Moletai and one to Ukmerge."

"If everything goes right they should arrive more or less three hours later."

"After taking Moletai they will launch another attack on Utena so that we can continue the assault on Daugavpills with friendly forces."

"Similar to the other one, after taking Ukmerge, they will continue their assault on Panevezys together with the 5th Army."

He then points to Kaunas,

"However, the assault on Daugavpills will only be one part of the 28th Army."

"Their main forces will be focusing on reconnecting with the Kaliningrad Military District."

Orgarkov looks at the map and thinks of the feasibility of the plan.

"Excellent, seems like we are having the advantage on the battlefield now."

"How about Riga, are there any news from there?"

"This city depends on whether we can surround these orcs."

Then, Ghasnov told him about what happened to the 24th Tank Training Division.

"Maybe we can help them since we already get the air supremacy."

"I will ask for the bomber squadron to perform carpet bombing on Riga tomorrow."

"Perhaps another round of tactical nuke on their airship repair base."

Just as they were discussing the situation in the front, an officer ran in and spoke loudly,

"Reporting to generals and Marshal, we just received a report from the 5th Tank Army."

"It's about the situation in Moletai, and I think it's a serious situation."

The officer then passes the report to Orgarkov.

After reading the report he slaps on the table hard.

"Bylat!"

Orgarkov passed the report to the Ghasnov and Govorov.

They then know what happens that makes Orgarkov mad.

"Villagers of Moletai have been massacred by the orcs, no survivor found."

"Some villagers have been chopped off, some were hung, some impaled on sharp wooden stakes."

Both Ghasnov and Govorov's faces show shock.

If this were true, it would mean every village and town they lost, people have been massacred cruelly by the orcs.

"Shame on our army!"

"I have seen what the Nazis did to our country 40 years ago, and now it happens again in our country."

"Send the report to Moscow, and share this information to our army."

"Our people and army should know what the orcs have done to us."

Soon, the whole army was told about what happened.

The mood of revenge quickly spread among the troops.

In Moscow,

Brezhnev has also received the news.

"This is unacceptable! How can such a thing still happen in our country?"

" Where is Ustinov? Call him to come and see me."

"And tell our troops, we do not accept any prisoners of war from the orcs, shoot to kill."

"I do not want to see any orcs that are alive on our land."

Orders from the Kremlin were sent out one after another.

A few minutes later,

Ustinov meets Brezhnev at his office.

"Ustinov, when can we get back our satellite?"

"Did you know what had happened in the Baltic States?"

Ustinov does know what had happened.

Before he entered the room he already asked for the reason why Brezhnev wanted to see him.

"Yes, Comrade Chairman."

"Then how are our satellites now, I want to nuke every single city of these orcs, I can not allow anyone that tries to bully us into submission."

Seeing Brezhnev becoming more and more mad, Ustinov had no choice but to bite the bullet and continue to explain.

"I apologize Comrade Chairman, our scientists have been working day and night to get the satellite back."

"Just a few hours ago, we launched a few satellites in Baikonur Kazakhstan launch."

"Unfortunately, we have failed."

"The electronic device is not working after it reached the altitude of 40000m."

"Our scientists are still looking for the problem now."

Brezhnev has now finally chilled down a bit.

"I give you one month, and I want to see our satellite back on the system, or else I believe there will be someone else able to do your job."

"Understand, Comrade Chairman."

"You may leave now."

Tonight is a crazy night.

The sky was illuminated by bursts of rockets with flaming tails like a pop.

Soviet Forces are launching a bunch of cruise missiles at every place where orcs have been spotted.

New developed BM-27 Uragan MLRS equipped with 220 mm rockets from 16 launch tubes were also first time used in war.

The water in the swamp is boiling, the shells of artillery and rockets are pounding, and the fire is burning.

These are the revenge for the people in Moletai, in the Baltic.
