Chapter 7: You Lunatic

"Ah!"

Vanessa screamed, abruptly waking up.

Trembling, she anxiously turned on the light.

But the light flickered and went out quickly.

Vanessa: "!!!"

"There are ghosts, there really are ghosts!"

"There are ghosts, wuwuwu~"

She immediately reached for her phone and reflexively called Oliver Reynolds.

The phone rang four or five times before being answered. Vanessa immediately spoke with a crying tone.

"It's me, Oliver, wuwuwu, I had a nightmare, dreamt of ghosts, I'm so scared~"

A mocking laughter came from the other end.

A woman's laughter.

Vanessa's expression instantly froze.

She suspiciously glanced at the phone's contact information, and indeed, it was Oliver Reynolds.

Instantly, her heart tightened.

At this moment, she actually forgot about the previous nightmare and asked with narrowed eyes.

"Who are you?"

"Hehe~ Sister, asking such a question is so childish."

"Uncle is single, and I'm single now too. What do you think?"

"Just now, uncle even said he would marry me in the future. I'm so happy!"

Vanessa couldn't stand it anymore; she hung up the phone and gritted her teeth.

Then, in anger, she shouted a few times and directly smashed the aromatherapy placed on the bedside.

Ethan Harper slowly opened his eyes, raising an eyebrow slightly.

Indeed, a woman who could bear having three children not fathered by her husband had a visibly fragile mental endurance.

Yesterday's rotten tomatoes, rotten eggs, and the big-character posters were just drizzles for her.

Even when he let the little ghost disrupt her dreams, it only made her slightly panic.

Especially when it's Oliver Reynolds!

Chad, who had been silent all night, also sent a message.

"Sorry~"

Ethan Harper, with a serious face, got up to brush his teeth and wash his face.

"You don't have to apologize to me. I'm helping you, and you're paying me back with a year of your life."

"You owe apologies to yourself and your dad."

Chad didn't send any more messages, and Ethan Harper sighed helplessly.

It's difficult to make an honest person change.

So, he had to eliminate potential threats, including those three children.

Thinking of the children, Vanessa evidently also thought about them.

The next day, she took Sophia to visit another mistress.

The process was quite skilled.

Still, before she could finish the job, she received a call from that mistress.

"Vanessa, what the hell did you do?"

Vanessa was still confused.

"What, Lucas Thompson, do you not want to give money? Let me tell you, Sophia is your child. If you don't give, I'll go to your house and make a scene!"

The other person was furious, "Go ahead, make a scene. Now, the whole Crestwood City, no, probably the entire country knows."

"What?" Vanessa was puzzled.

"You're amazing. In all these years, you've had relationships with over three hundred men. Vanessa, you're truly a time management master!"

The other person hung up the phone, leaving Vanessa bewildered.

But soon, she frowned.

Over three hundred?

Were there really that many?

Anyway, she had never counted.

Could it be that those troublemakers yesterday deliberately checked?

Vanessa's heart tightened.

Before she could check, Derek Matthews's call came.

His voice sounded more like a roar.

"Vanessa, what the hell did you do?"

"You lunatic, what have you done?"

Vanessa was yelled at and looked confused.

"No, I didn't do anything..."

Before she could finish her sentence, the call was abruptly hung up.

Vanessa wanted to call back, but the automated female voice reminded her, "The number you are trying to reach is currently busy..."

No need to say, she was blocked.

Vanessa gritted her teeth, "Derek Matthews, how dare you block me, just watch me..."

The female driver in front finally couldn't stand it and coughed lightly.

"Harmony Heights, we've arrived."

Vanessa gave her an unkind look, "How much?"

After paying, Vanessa pulled Sophia out of the car and slammed the door angrily.

Unexpectedly, the female driver quickly took out a bottle of perfume, sprayed it in the back seat, and then lowered the window, sneering at her.

"Scum, you've ruined a woman's face. Why don't you become a prostitute?"

Before Vanessa could react, she stepped on the gas and quickly left.

Vanessa was stunned for a moment. When she was about to explode in anger, she caught sight of a few old ladies.

The terrifying scene of yesterday's rotten tomatoes and eggs instantly flashed into her mind.

Vanessa quickly put on sunglasses and pushed down the brim of her hat.

Muttering to herself, "Which bitch is it? Just slept with your husband, is there a need for this?"

"Watch me find out who you are and make you regret it!"

Sophia was still too young to walk, so Vanessa simply carried her and walked towards the residential area.

But before she could reach the building, she saw a group of people carrying paint buckets.

Still, it was those old ladies.

Vanessa's heart tightened, and she quickly avoided them.

After they passed, she hurriedly ran home.

As soon as she got upstairs, she saw neighbors pointing and whispering in front of her house.

Glancing at her front door, the blood-red words "slut," "mistress," and "scum" were very eye-catching.

Vanessa was shocked.

These people actually found out where her house was so quickly?

So soon?

Seeing her, the neighbors laughed awkwardly, "Vanessa, I tried to stop them, but I couldn't. They say you're destroying someone else's family. Is it true?"

Vanessa angrily retorted, "Whether it's true or not is none of your business!"

Neighbor: "..."

"If it weren't for fear that my house would be smeared with paint, I wouldn't care!"

"Bang!"

She slammed the door shut.

She stood there for a moment, really about to explode in anger. But then, she noticed a few old ladies.

Yesterday's horrifying scene of rotten tomatoes and eggs immediately came to her mind.

Vanessa quickly put on sunglasses and pushed down the brim of her hat.
