They both knew this playful girl was serious when it came to business. As long as they work hard, she will always support them without interfering with their mode of operation. This kind of offer won't be seen by any behemoth buyer.
The fact that their debt, which seemed scary, was nothing to her was a telltale sign that they were in capable hands. Since they will move under her banner, will she accept the location of their entire assets for Saphila?
With the recent storm brewing in the region, they could forecast it will return to its peak days, or rather surpass those good days. They have already joined this behemoth ship. Why not camp in their nest too?
"We already accepted your buyout offer. A full payment of our asking price, the settlement of our outstanding debt, and the autonomous operations of the firm while you are to be a hidden boss away from the eye of the public..." Kelvin paused to sip his water from the water glass cup that was originally left on the table.
"I smell a 'but'?" Elaine interjected.
"You are correct, young lady. Since we are joining your sailing ship, it is imprudent of us to ask for a place in your territory. With our observations, we decided to risk everything and join you at Saphila. If we continue staying in this place, we will still be strangled. Your objectives will be far from complete. Our time will be occupied by fending skirmishes that skip your notice." Kelvin concluded his long speech.
"I see... You are right. When you are ready to move to Saphila, pay me a visit. We can discuss the new location of Utopia headquarters. This should be all. Are there any other requests?" Elaine asked the representatives.
"None. This is great for us. We are happy to serve you, miss." Mario made a curtsey, elegant bow to Elaine.
Elaine turned to Dean Travis and said, "Deal with their full payment within this week. Clear off the outstanding debts. I hate the word debt. The Cybertron blueprints I recently created for my domain will be discussed with my city planners. Utopia is welcome to claim a Cybertron cityscape after they visited me at Saphila."
"I will retire for today. I have been busy throughout the day. Dean Travis, remember to ring those lads. They are setting up an island territory. I need your input in its defense. Not only the island, pay a visit to Saphila. I need you to involve yourself in the defense layout. I need defense far greater than any continental defense. It is not necessary to build it at once, but having a clear blueprint for how my Cybertron cityscape continent will be in the future is not a bad pass, right?" Elaine stared openly at Dean Travis.
"Alright! I know you miss this grand daddy here." Dean Travis bragged.
"Really? So, you officially accepted to be an old man. Hihihi." A soft laugh rang in the room.
"Piss off. Who is an old man? Just get lost from my line." Dean Travis raged.
Hahaha~
Laughter from both ends until the call was disconnected.
Apple, who was waiting by the side, asked, "Ma'am, would you love some creamy hot bath?"
"Do away with the 'ma'am', Apple? I have a name. Use it, and yes, I need a milk bath."
----
Phantom city.
Gray was still in a coma. Anabel was seated close to the upper region of the hospital bed. She was holding his right hand while looking at the handsome teenager. She found him pleasing to the eyes. He was like a sleeping prince to her.
She found a sweat on his face. She uses the handkerchief in her hand to gently wipe off the sweat while humming some music.
Creaks open~
Joyce walked in with the other assassin maidens. There are twelve of them. Eleven walked in with her while Anabel, one of the assassin maidens, was wiping off the perspiration from Gary's tender face.
"How is he?" Joyce asked Anabel who had taken care of Gary since he arrived in Phantom City.
"According to Dr. Kim, they will be observing him for two weeks at a minimum to one month for any arising complications." Anabel replied all she knew to her lady Joyce.
While the Dr. Kim she spoke of was none other than Joyce's private female doctor. Her full name is Kimberly Lyla. She is another individual who is not satisfied with her destiny plan. She joined Joyce to right the wrong made by fate.
So far, she has yet to regret her decision. She, leaving her previous workplace, to gain the approval of her lady, is the greatest choice of her life. She is happy doing what she loves to do without worrying about a higher-up who will mess up and seek out subordinates to bear the consequences of their stupidity.
She won't have to worry about it anymore. Nor would she be limited to a corner because she failed to please those at the top.
For years now, Dr. Kim has been taking care of the girls when they return from their jobs. Oh! Yes, she was aware of the nature of their job; instead of panicking, she was enthrall by such a position and has since decided to work hard. She gave all her best. Nursing her lady back to health after being wounded.
Some hours ago, she watched as her lady handed over to her a handsome teenager. Without expecting much from her lady, she knew the boy would be important to her.
She went to work immediately but stopped as she noticed a recently done surgery on the boy. There were two types of surgery: one done some weeks ago and the other is new. Probably hours ago.
She traced her hands on the wound and could gather that it was a recent wound. What could make someone seek out a child and hunt for his life over and over again, leaving him near death? Yet his tenacity won't give up on life.
What was it that made him keep defying death? She knew there was something edging him to always stay with the living. Was it for revenge? Love? Or rather, an unfinished business or promise.
Well, whatever it is... It is doing great services to his dangling vitality? It made the vitality tenacious and unyielding.
Dr. Kim didn't sweat much to keep the boy alive. A master in their field did the most laborious work. She did the critical monitoring. She made certain the pretty athletic boy did not quietly cross over to the other side of life after much had been done to preserve his life.
Joyce walked close to him, caressing his face while brushing his loose, rebellious hair towards the others. She listened to his steady breathing and felt oddly satisfied. Knowing full well that the boy will live.
"When did Kim say he should come around?" Anabel knew she was asking when he should open his eyes.
"She said something along the lines of... today or tomorrow. Something like that. But if his recovery is too slow, he will take two weeks to a month to wake up." Anabel parroted what Dr. Kim said earlier before she left for the operation room.
