Beginning and End

In the darkness of the night, a few hours before Dash and the others would return home because they couldn't sleep, many were resting in things that entertained them. By then, Dash had bid farewell to Dre, who, after some pauses, had become friends with the ruthless Cheng, and their friendship would eventually improve. Of course, that would be Mr. Han's job.

Dash, on his part, was sitting on the balcony of the hotel where he was staying, and Devon was by his side, sipping a hot drink as they together gazed at the stars.

"I guess all of this, in the end, is not a dream..."

He could feel the scent in the air, the deep breaths he took whenever he was alone, something he had been doing unconsciously. Filling his lungs with air and not feeling any kind of weakness was something that filled him with peace.

Just out of curiosity, upon returning home, he wanted to get a complete checkup to make sure he was healthy. He couldn't help it; the fear he felt of being tormented again by that incurable disease was something that worried him.

Throughout this time, he had achieved and done things he had never thought possible before, so losing it all in an instant was not something he wanted to feel again. He had friends, close loved ones, and parents who had never scolded or distanced him from his dreams. Everything was like a dream, something magical that would only happen in some delusion after death.

But after suffering so much, crying and laughing, he knew that he had no illusions, and this was reality, his own reality that had been granted to him.

"Do you still have those problems?"

"Just a little, but I think I'm overcoming them..." Dash replied as he looked at Devon beside him, who was stargazing.

He had relied on her to tell her all his problems. That mental feeling of being alone had completely disappeared, and it was something that was only due to Devon, who silently supported him. He had never thought that all he needed was to be accompanied, to feel loved and cared for. Being alone cools the heart and bitter the feelings, but here, having lovely people by his side, that feeling was not present all the time.

"And is Kung Fu helping you?"

"Although I use it for other purposes, it's helping me a lot. Not only do I look more handsome, but also in the future, I'll be the envy of every man." Dash joked lightly after realizing that as a man, there were others who were really attractive, and he wasn't stating the truth.

"Yes, I don't expect to see who will put up with you being the way you are..."

Dash smiled and asked, "How about you? Talking only about me makes me feel a bit bad. Don't you want to say something now?"

"I'm still looking for the words for everything we've been living together, and I still can't explain how I feel..."

Dash, who was looking at the fireflies, inexplicably felt at peace talking about these things, so hearing something from Devon was becoming aware of oneself and others' problems.

"I also believe I can't explain how magical all of this has been..." Dash nodded upon hearing that.

Devon felt very calm next to Dash, and that's when she understood that she was living a life that very few have been able to achieve in life.

"I'm happy; every moment I breathe, I'm truly grateful, and I want it to continue like this..." Dash thought as he looked at the moon and felt the cool breeze running through his body. This time, he felt alive, and everything he had done was completely worth it. Now, he could not only say that he was alive but also that he had achieved everything he set out to do on a hospital bed. It wasn't easy, but in the process, he sought a way for everything to be worthwhile.

In this new opportunity, he would not reject anything that had been granted to him; he wanted to be grateful for life and hoped it would continue to be this way. When he thought about all this, he looked at Devon and said, "Devon, let's keep striving."

"I hope you don't give up at the end of the road. Someday, the moment will come when we shine in front of the whole world..."

"We'll shine together..."
