A massive rip in the fabric of space and time leaves Space command's deep space fleet stuck on the other side of the rift. Meanwhile alien ships from another dimension arrive on Earth en masse on the other side of the divide. Captain Maguire, a decorated graduate of the Space command academy, whose unorthodox approach to duty is also his strength in a desperate bid to defend commands his starship the Sandawana into the rift in a desperate bid to defend Earth. 
Arriving on Earth he initiates the counter attack to repel the alien ships from Earth.  Other starships of  Space command's deep space fleet arrive on Earth to support the Sandawana's fight against the alien ships. Under the vicious barrage of lasers and missiles from Space command's deep space fleet, the alien ships begin to withdraw to their own dimension. But as they retreat the aliens launch a ground operation and take a senior Space fleet officer captive. 
Captain Maguire is forced to pursue the aliens taking the fight to their home world.

Interdimensional, a starship trilogy

"Captain, message from the captain of the wrecker ship", reported lieutenant Tanaka at communications. 


"What does the message say", promptly ordered captain Maguire. 


"Captain, they say they were hit by some kind of high energy burst a few minutes ago, of unknown origin which knocked out most of their communications. Hence they are unable to transmit make any transmission beyond messages", explained lieutenant Tanaka. 


"Very well", said captain Maguire. "It must have been the same time that we were also struck". 


"Captain", said captain Lucinda at sitting beside him distracting his temporarily attention from the image approaching shuttle on the bridge's big screen. 


"Were you really considering handing over command of the Sandawana to me?", she asked. 


"Yes, I can't think of a more competent officer, in fact I would honoured if you would accept such a responsibility", said captain Maguire.
