Chapter 28

As I approach her, she turns to me with a charming smile on her beautiful face. Her long, silky black hair hangs down to her mid-back, and the violet color of her eyes seems almost unnaturally vibrant in the dark. She looks younger than I had seen her through my Spirits' eyes, which means she's probably going for the same tactics she used on Issei in the anime.

The charmingly fake smile on her face gets the slightest bit more real as she waves me over. "Excuse me!"

"Yes?" I try to be polite. Mentally I've got [Summon: Servant] and [Blade Blacksmith] ready to go. If she tries anything, this won't go the way she thinks it will. Because while I might be a level below her, my Summons are stronger than the both of us, and I've no doubt that Ichi will ensure the Fallen's death is quick and brutal.

"Are you Sora Sakai?" She asks, a small tilt of her head as she clasps her hands in front of her, pushing her breasts together and drawing emphasis to her curvy figure underneath the school uniform that she's wearing.

Reluctantly, I nod. "I am, and you are?"

"I'm Yuuma Amano, I saw you walking through town earlier and was actually hoping to speak to you for a minute." Raynare says, taking a step closer to me as she continues, "I know this is sudden, but I was wondering if you were free to go on a date with me?"

Wait, what? She saw me earlier? When I was walking Aika back to her apartment? Shit. That is not good, not good at all. Does she think Aika might be my girlfriend? If she does, and I reject her offer, Raynare might go after Aika to get to me.

Fuck! I'm going to have to accept her offer now, aren't I?

"Sure, but it'll have to be this weekend." While I might be able to take her on now with my Summons, there's a very real chance that she has the experience to outmaneuver me. After all, she has wings and can use them to fly while I and my Summons can't. And all it takes is a single Light Spear to take me down. "I'm kind of busy with school tomorrow, so how does Saturday sound?"

It's not exactly a lot of time, but if I can grind out heavily tonight and tomorrow, I may just have a chance at salvaging this.

"Great!" Raynare cheers, giving a small jump as her breasts bounce noticeably beneath her uniform, "How about we meet at the town mall? Around noon sound good?"

Nodding, I quickly make my excuses and leave before she can try and rope me into anything else.

Using my Spirits to track her, I watch as she transforms back into her regular appearance before taking flight. As she heads back to the abandoned church where they've set up their base of operations, my Spirit is forced to abandon its pursuit as it comes across a barrier set up around the building.

That was one of the issues I've discovered about my Spirits. While they're able to disappear from sight and move through walls, they can't get passed magical barriers. If they could, this would be so much easier because then I'd be able to spy on all of Rias and Sona's meetings without having to guess what they're plans are.

With a defeated sigh, I call back the Spirit before sending it off to keep watch over Aika from now on. I'm not sure if the Fallen have any interest in her yet, but when she's out of my sight I'll be keeping a Spirit near her at all times. And if I just so happen to catch a few free shows in the meantime…well, that's just me being thorough.

Suuure~ it is…

'Is that sass I'm hearing? Rude!' Finally arriving back home; as I step through the gate I spot Ichi standing in the courtyard patiently waiting for me. "Ichi, get your fellow brothers and sisters ready. It's time we head back into the Dungeon."

"Yes, Master." She nods, quickly moving to gather the others as I stand there waiting for them to arrive.

While I could have just called them all back with my powers, I'm trying to give Ichi small tasks to do while there's currently so little going on. I've no doubt that once things start picking up, she'll be seeing a lot more work as my assistant. So until then I'm having her do simple things like this in the meantime.

As for Saturday; I don't know what will happen on the date, but one thing's for sure…I now know how strong she is. And if she's the leader, then the other Fallen must be around her level

Which means I'll need to get a few more levels at least to stand toe-to-toe with them without just relying on my Summons. Thereby setting the bar for what I need to surpass if I hope to live through it.

Sounds to me like the perfect time for a Quest!

A bonus Objective? I haven't seen one of those before…and it's hidden too.

That's because it's meant to be a surprise, silly!

'I…guess that makes sense.' It really doesn't, but I'm not about to get upset with her over something so minor. Besides, as a bonus objective it means that I can still fail it without risking the quest itself. 'Thank you, Gaia.'
