CHAPTER 6
Luke smiled as he moved through the road. He was invincible and hence does not need to mind some mundane rules. The light of the sun and the beauty of the world shone in his eyes. Different beings saw him and ran and he laughed aloud at his power. He sat atop his wolf as he moved. He could see some castles. He knew that this was a purely medieval society and did not care much. Some knights approached him with fear and looked at him with respect. The leading knight bowed and bent their knees to him. He waited for some time before Luke understood the knights' thought and said to stand up.
The knight asked respectfully what his name was and Luke replied that he was named Luke. The knight asked whether he was a knight and Luke replied that he was nothing more than a warrior unbound by the precepts of the world and he was also a general. He said that he was a minister to the king and was a teacher to his nation. He proclaimed himself to be a great philosopher who had helped his kingdom grow up. The knight was happy and invited Luke formally on behalf of his lord. Luke thought that this might be something interesting and decided to see the thing at the time of meeting.
Luke entered the castle and let his wolf stay alongside the stables. The Count invited him happily and asked him to come inside. The Count had to face some war related to the orthodoxy of the Royal throne and could only prepare much more. A powerful warrior could only be bought to stand at his side and could not be allowed to stand someone else's side. Luke smiled and entered the castle. The countess was standing beside the count and the count welcomed him properly. The count said a lot of things about how the royal family led to the misery of the people. The country was devastated as the thrones was something all the ones fought for. The royal family was all dead except for two daughters married by two dukes. The orthodoxy was left to them and the wars were not something they could not fight. The kingdom could not be split as the neighbours were hungry wolves. The only option was to have war every few years and return to have some rest. Marriage alliance was no longer possible as the hatred had risen to the extreme.
Luke smiled at war and announced he shall accept the offer if the knight can beat him down. The Count was happy with the reply. Some warriors had more thought and had more pride. They could not work under them and would say certain conditions to satisfy their pride. The count took Luke to the training ground. The knights were ready and the count had twenty knights. The rest of the soldiers during war were peasants and the knights had much higher strength.
Luke took the wooden sword he had made during his free time. He took the wooden sword and pointed at the knights. He smiled and asked the knights to fight him all at once and asked them to use the swords. The countess thought that he might be a person who had just won the favour of the wolf and might not be a real warrior. She was not foolish enough to speak out but her eyes showed disappointment. The angry knights decided to kill him as they did not want to work with someone who did not respect them. The count did not speak much as he thought that the warrior who challenges should face the consequence. He shall get rewards and glory when he wins and hence should face the risk he chose.
The attack of the knight was dealt with easily. Luke easily moved in inhuman manner and got parried all the swords. He was able to parry the attack of all the knights at one time. Luke smiled and looked at them. He said that he wanted the knights to be ready mentally so that when they lose, they will not reject the losing game. The countess smiled and so did the count. Such warriors were the one who stood on the frontlines and could increase the morale of the soldiers.
The serious knights formed the attack formation and attacked Luke. Luke kept standing there with his left hand behind him and blocked all the swords with a single sword. The single sword blocked all other swords and hit them back. The knights flew back three meters as Luke did not want them injured and each of the knights were scared. Seeing the knights were not ready to attack, Luke put the sword back and attacked with his fist.
Each sword was blocked and each of them were beaten down. The handsome man beating twenty knights was not something knights themselves could not yearn. All the knight stood up and bowed to him respectfully. The knights smiled and bowed to him. Such warriors were only heard in legend and was not something seen. The count had respect for Luke and Luke still had the same smile.
The count invited the warrior to his study. The count took some good wine and asked him what his ideal was. Luke smiled and said that he had to break through in swordsmanship. The Count was happy hearing this remark and said that he was going to join the war on the side of the fire duke who worshipped the god of fire and life. The enemy worshiped the ice duke who worshipped the god of ice and beauty. The count wanted to know which god Luke worshipped and he thought for some time. Luke could only say that he did not worship any god and only respected them. He further added that if there was any god that he worshipped then that was Lucifer.
The Count smiled and said that he did not believe in any god and this land did not have much problem in meeting beings with different religions. The land did not have restriction on religion as each lord had their own faith. The Count asked what he had meant by being a general and Luke said that he was a general in his previous kingdom. He said that he was tired due to war and the fact that the enemy country was destroyed under him. The king did not want someone who had such merit and he could only leave the kingdom with heavy rewards worthy of such merit. He had chosen some sword as it was the only pair of sword in the kingdom that stood above all. The swords were sharper than all and could not be melted and broken. The sword could cut down other swords and he was happy.
The Count was sad at the fact that he was not rewarded and tried to comfort him. Luke smiled and said that he had killed the entire noble family and purged the whole nobility. The kingdom was lost in civil strife due to the power vacuum and the kingdom was destroyed. Luke had released his killing intent at the end of the sentence and had to believe it. The Count was scared as he knew that Luke could kill him whenever he wanted. His heart calmed down thinking about the various things that could kill him not limited to the poison.
The count said that he will make sure that Luke will be heavily rewarded. Luke asked whether he will be present in the battlefield and the count said that he would indeed be present in the battlefield. Luke said to him to just grant him the money when the time comes after seeing his performance. The count was worried about miscalculating about the prize but did not say anything about it. Luke smiled and he would be happy to be in the war but would be leaving after the war. He also asked to be presented with some wonderful attire that is suitable for travel, parties and for warfare.
The count was happy about the request as he did not know what could be given and what the warrior needed. The count agreed to the demand and asked him to rest at the guest room. Luke asked to allow his wolf to enter the room and said that the wolf would not make the room or inside of the castle dirty. The count thought about it and agreed.
Luke went to the wolf that was waiting for him and played with its head. The wolf and the man went to the room to sleep. The wolf lay down on the ground and the man slept on his body.
