Their Last Farewell

Feeling the grass tips brushing her feet, Leslie threw her gaze to her surroundings. Her almond eyes took in everything presented in front of her.

All Leslie could see was an emerald sea of vast grassland with rolling hills stretching out far.

Blooms of wildflowers carpeted the ground, adding splashes of colors. The crisp air was infused with the scent of the dancing wildflowers, its fragrance swirled to the tip of her nose.

'Where am I?'

The question lingered in Leslie's mind from the first moment she found herself here. Standing barefoot on the ground, the breeze gently tousled her long hair, her skirt billowed around her.

'Why am I here? Is this the afterlife? Calix... what he's doing now? Is he looking for me?'

Leslie still remembered how terrified Calix looked as her soul disintegrated in front of him. She had never seen such terror expressed by him before.
