People Liked Him But, He Hated Them

The small party started at seven in the backyard. Aside from Calix, Leslie, Aunt Wendy and Uncle Raymond, Mrs. An also joined them. She was on duty tonight.

Mrs. Su clocked out before the celebration started but, Aunt Wendy sent her off with several food boxes. The former happily thanked the housekeeper for the dishes.

The group of five had fun dining at the pavilion built on the wooden deck. Uncle Raymond entertained them by singing old songs. He grabbed Aunt Wendy's hand, inviting his wife to sing along.

Good food and good people played roles in having a great party. They exchanged stories and laughter while enjoying the delicious dishes.

The echoes of the merry sounds harmonized with the gentle lapping of the water and the leaves rustling.

Eventually, the party came to an end around ten.

"Calix, thank you. I enjoyed... the party so much."
